A secret cabal is taking over the world. They kidnap children, slaughter, and eat them to gain power from their blood. They control high positions in government, banks, international finance, the news media, and the church. They want to disarm the police. They promote homosexuality and pedophilia. They plan to mongrelize the white race so it will lose its essential power.

Does this conspiracy theory sound familiar? It is. The same narrative has been repackaged by QAnon.

I have studied and worked to prevent genocide for forty years. Genocide Watch and the Alliance Against Genocide, the first international anti-genocide coalition, see such hate-filled conspiracy theories as early warning signs of deadly genocidal violence.

The plot, described above, was the conspiracy “revealed” in the most influential anti-Jewish pamphlet of all time. It was called The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. It was written by Russian anti-Jewish propagandists around 1902. It collected myths about a Jewish plot to take over the world that had existed for hundreds of years. Central to its mythology was the Blood Libel, which claimed that Jews kidnapped and slaughtered Christian children and drained their blood to mix in the dough for matzos consumed on Jewish holidays.

Refreshing to see this given how many seem to leave out/avoid discussing the overwhelming reliance on anti-Semitism.

4. My (100%) Jewish blood boiled and screamed when 45 won

And my hackles rose to the roof. I was distraught because of what his winning would bring.
I shared these sentiments with friends and family. Some agreed, but many replied 45 was pro-Israel, had Jewish family members, and I was overreacting.

Interestingly, 2 Christian friends told me they would hide me if anything bad happened.
They did not say it wouldn't happen, or that I was off base. That was very telling, and validated my concerns. I live in the south, and started to consider moving back to the northeast, or leaving the country.

My family came from Eastern Europe in the late 1800's through 1908, due to the pogroms. Most left Europe well before Hitler rose to power. Their Jewish hackles told them to run far and fast.
That's what mine told me in 2016.

But what I decided was to embrace my Judaism, stop working on Saturday to observe shabbat, joined a synagogue, and put Jewish star earrings in my 2nd holes so they are always visible, not hiding on a chain around my neck.

I've thought about moving to Israel at various points in my life, but I have concerns about the violence and risks of living there. I've been thinking more about that over the last few years.
I'm almost 60, have no spouse or siblings or children, so I have more emotional freedom to make the move.

Thinking about it more seriously lately, even though they've still got netanyahoo! I've seen where this Q craziness is coming from, and where it's heading. Another chapter in our history, which is laden with recurring episodes of antisemitism.
