PETERSBURG, Ky. — True to his passionate and animated TV persona, "Science Guy" Bill Nye tapped on the podium, threw up his hands and noted that science shows the Earth is "billions and billions" of years old in a debate at a Kentucky museum known for teaching that the planet's age is only 6,000.

Nye was debating Creation Museum founder Ken Ham and promoting science in the snappy way that made him a pop culture staple as host of "Bill Nye The Science Guy" in the 1990s.

The event was meant to explore the age old question, "How did we get here?" from the perspectives of faith and science.

Ham, an Australian native who has built a thriving ministry in Kentucky, said he trusts the story of creation presented by the Bible.

I watched the entire debate.

It was painful.

Bill Nye did an excellent job !

When Bill Nye would ask Ken Ham a question his standard reply was we have a book that answers that.

2. Problem with the "book that answers that" is it was written when there was no knowledge about the

world from pole to pole and that it was round, and that there were civilizations much farther beyond the Nile than anyone had a clue about at the time.
Something that has bothered me for a long time..in Genesis it says for the children of Adam and Eve to go forth and take wives..if they were the only people as Genesis asserts, where were these wives to come from?

3. I have watched a portion of this debate and Bill Nye kicked butt

Ham is a really sad person and Nye was very convincing
