Scientists reverse ageing process in mice; early human trials showing 'promising results'

Scientists from Harvard and the University of New South Wales say they have discovered how to reverse the ageing process.

The research has focused on mice, but early clinical trials have also been conducted on humans.

The scientists said they switched youthful genes on and older genes off, using naturally occurring proteins and molecules.

Professor of genetics at Harvard and UNSW, David Sinclair, led the research team.

Hit 12 billion. At least, I think that is the current projection. Immortality right now will kill planet Earth.

access to it and in fact they would probably pass laws requiring you to have a minimum net worth of $1,000,000,000 to even make the list to potentially have access to such a treatment.

With the fundies all stirred up to prevent blasphemous science. But go to certain clinics, probably outside the US, and all will be allowed.

anything either)...

but I both agree AND disagree with you at the same time.

The rich would try to block the proletariat from access to it, but it would guarantee a revolt/war. Why? In a way similar to Pascal's Wager... the payoff for winning the war is infinite but losing... well you're going to die anyway right?

the rich could think of nothing better than having the poor live forever, because as they are apt to say, "it's so hard finding good help these days".

it would be indentured servitude forever.

or corporate serfdom.

And just think of this, you think death will get you out of paying your debt? LOL

they will make you live as long as needed until you pay it off.

Hmmmm, sounds like the premise for a good Sci-Fi novel.

11. Actually living longer significantly lowers overpopulation. It's paradoxical, but true

The countries with overpopulation issues are the developing ones. Europe and Japan have negative population growth and long lifespans. The US would also have negative population growth if not for immigrants.

The article sounds more like a commercial for reservatrol. You can buy this in vitamin form from several producers.
