By Rachel Feltman
Canadian Edgar Nernberg isn't into the whole evolution thing. In fact, he's on the board of directors of Big Valleys Creation Science Museum, a place meant to rival local scientific institutions. Adhering to the most extreme form of religious creationism, the exhibits "prove" that the Earth is only around 6,000 years old, and that humans and dinosaurs co-existed.
Unfortunately, Nernberg just dug up a 60-million-year-old fish.
¯\_(ツ _/¯
Local outlets report that the man is far from shaken by the bony fish, which he found while excavating a basement in Calgary.
Because here's the thing: He just doesn't believe they're that old. And he's quite the fossil lover.
No, it hasnt changed my mind. We all have the same evidence, and its just a matter of how you interpret it, Nernberg told the Calgary Sun. Theres no dates stamped on these things."

(19,460 posts)By gawd, he's right! The least those dinosaurs could have done was use one of those rolly black date stampers thingies on footprints and shit. But, no, TRex and company just had to make us use scientific stuff like carbon dating to get our info.

Alberta creationist Edgar Nernberg may not believe in the existence of 60-million-year-old fossils, but that's exactly what he came across while excavating a Calgary basement recently.
Nernberg, who sits on the board of directors of Big Valleys Creation Science Museum, works for a local excavation company and was digging out a basement in the community of Evanston when he found five fish fossils in a block of sandstone, reports CBC News.

When the five fish fossils presented themselves to me in the excavator bucket, the first thing I said was youre coming home with me, the second thing was I better call a paleontologist," Nernberg said in a statement.

(5,829 posts)I know wrongly-named Discovery Inst claims to have such scientists, but they're all creationists.
(my phone doesn't get along well w/ HuffPo, so I don't know if article mentions who & Post doesn't say)
