1. I'm watching a rerun of Ru Paul's Drag Race

Cable/Satellite is more than just bafflegabbers on 24 hour "news."

Not much more these days, programming has been cheapened due to competition from Netflix and others, but it's not a complete wasteland Fridays usually suck, "everybody's out, it's payday and date night, let's run total crap."

2. I'm in my car at the moment so have no TV, just Sirius, but...

when at home I usually have about 50 hours of recordings of interesting stuff I missed for some reason. Comes in handy for those times when there's nothing I want to watch on close to 300 channels.

4. For me, it's DVDs of movies and a few documentaries

Funny how often that's happening now. Most movie channels are running superhero crap, TCM is stuck in the 50s and 60s, and most other channels are trying to sell something or are running reruns of network TV shows. Today the damned thing will be off. Even the Science Channel let me down, "How it's Made" is OK for an episode or two but not hour after hour.

ETA: After Big Dummy got in, I binge watched bad disaster movies on You Tube, the cheesier the better. Not only did I get a laugh out of what passed for science in them, they were always told from the point of view of survivors. I found them oddly comforting.

Like I should talk. My wife and I have hundreds of DVDs in our home, mixed in with several thousand actual paper books.

But our television doesn't play cable, satellite, or broadcast television. We've had Netflix for years now and so far haven't run out of stuff to watch. But perhaps we are too easily amused... Nailed It!

I do subscribe to our local public radio station. There's some good programs on there and it would be horrible to lose the frequency to some sort of religious bullshit. (Alas, I've never recovered from a former housemate who listened to "Christian Rock" every minute he was home. And it was his house. But maybe he did me a favor. I learned I didn't need that kind of home.)
