Radio Host Says Ebola Is a ‘Cleansing Force’ That Will Kill Homosexuals and Atheists

The now infamous Christian radio host Rick Wiles often says some pretty crazy stuff. But this time he has topped even his own level of crazy which listeners (enthusiasts and those who tune in for a laugh), have come to expect. While Wiles often says some pretty inflammatory things, this time he has transcended all levels of cruelty and insensitivity, claiming that the Ebola virus which has been ravaging Africa, is in fact a cleansing force.

“This Ebola epidemic could become a global pandemic and that’s another name for plague,” Wiles said on his “Trunews” talk show.

“It may be the great attitude adjustment that I believe is coming,” Wiles carried on. “Ebola could solve America’s problems with atheism, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, pornography, and abortion.”

Wiles continued with the insane rants, claiming that the virus did have a downside. While it would kill everyone that Wiles doesn’t like, it would – he was certain – allow President Obama to declare martial law on Americans.

More: http://countercurrentnews.com/2014/08/radio-host-says-ebola-is-a-cleansing-force-that-will-kill-homosexuals-and-atheists/ , but not much more. The article is only 5 short paragraphs. It's just as well, since we're facing the cleansing force of the Ebola virus, and don't have much time to read.

Believers and non-believers are exactly the same in this regard. And it's complicated. And religion has done far more good than bad in the world.

Or so some deeply deluded and intellectually compromised people over in Religion would have us believe.

Uh... isn't it religious missionaries who are being evac-ed?... not homosexuals. Maybe it will cleanse America of its problems with evangelicals and science deniers....

Seriously, ebola is a "hot" virus, which means it runs through its course (and victims) quickly and stops spreading (because victims don't have much time to spread the virus, ... unlike a "cold" virus like AIDS, which has years to spread) It's hard for it to become a pandemic. Apparently one of the big problems with ebola is they cannot find the "host", a place (plant or animal) where the virus lies dormant until it infects a human.

Anyway..... that's what I remember from the book "The Hot Zone"... which I highly recommend.

Maybe a crisis of faith caused them to contract the virus?

I had to read "The Hot Zone" for a biology class back in the '90s when it first came out. It's a little bit sensationalized, but a good read and very informative. Ebola doesn't spread as efficiently as other viruses, but crowded third-world cities with limited medical infrastructure are the perfect storm for this disease, so while it probably won't become a pandemic, it just might get worse before it gets better. Also, hemorrhagic fever is horrific. Preston's descriptions of "bleeding out" stuck with me long after I finished reading the book.

The look on his face would be a thing of rare beauty.

Viruses don't discriminate.

Even the really creepy wingnut evangelicals should be running from this guy. But.....I wonder.

This isn't even as easy to pin on sinners as the AIDS virus was....since the first outbreak of AIDS did hit the homosexual community particularly hard. Ebola is a real stretch to solve all the ills of America. I have seen no evidence that Ebola is hitting sinners more than anyone else.

Sigh.
