"Deadly Devotion" Marathon!

Showing all day on the ID Channel. Started earlier today but I just noticed it, sorry. Those inclined can probably still catch/DVR most of the shows, depending on your Time Zone Privilege.

"Deadly Devotion" is the show that features crimes with a basis in religion. (Yeah, I know, I know - how did they ever figure out where to start?)

This marathon sure runs the gamut. From white supremacists to Black Hebrew Israelites, an Amish serial killer, our old buddies the $cientologists and an absolutely heartbreaking story of a murderous Jehovah's Witness.

I'd say "enjoy," but that word doesn't exactly fit for these shows. e.g., right now I'm watching a preacher turn up the volume on a recording of the Lord's Prayer. To mask the sound of him shooting a little boy in the head.

I remember the stories about tent revival preachers screwing little girls between fire and brimstone sermons and the healing fakery. I was just glad that having an Irish Catholic mother saved me from going to one of those things to be "saved" by some pompadoured fraud.

In the meantime, I'm flipping between the Simpsons marathon on FXX and the Mythbusters marathon on Science.

Tomorrow all channels except TCM will be back to bible crap, UFOs and that stupid Aliens guy.

If we didn't have an election season coming up soon, I'd pull the plug on the satellite.

earlier today I caught the Deadly Devotion episodes "Fatal Amish Attraction" and "Scientology Cure" (I think that's their titles). Sorry I missed the other Deadly Devotion episodes today. Maybe the DD marathon will continue later. I hope so! I suppose I could find some of the episodes on You Tube.

Just watched the documentary Three Days In September. About the 2004 siege of Beslan School #1 in Russia by Chechen terrorists.

9/1/2014 marks the 10th anniversary of that horrible event, which is probably the reason Showtime is running the documentary.

The terrorists took 1200 people and held them hostage for 3 days, most of the time with no water, food or bathroom visits. The hostages were mostly little kids, their parents and school personnel.

One poor woman had to make a real-life "Sophie's Choice." She was allowed to leave the school with her 2-yr-old son, but had to leave her 6-yr-old daughter behind.

A male hostage tried to get water for the kids by squeezing the dirt from plants thru his shirt. One of the terrorists said: "If you move one more time, I'll shoot you. You're interrupting my prayers."

You can get the documentary on DVD or other places. Narrated by Julia Roberts.

No, no, no, no, NO!

When good things happen it's religion. When bad things happen it's mental illness.

Get it right!
