No, not a mission statement for this group. But the title of a 2012 indie movie I just saw, starring David Straitharn.
I usually enjoy historical movies and this one picked a big topic - America in 1919, with strikes, the IWW, the Red Raids and terrorist bombings. Probably too big a topic for its obviously low budget and running time. There are also some gaping plot holes, but still worth watching IMworthlessO.
The cast of characters includes...
Sacco and Vanzetti
Emma Goldman
John D. Rockefeller
Carlo Tresca
William Flynn, first Director of the FBI
hustling bureaucrat and general toady J. Edgar Hoover, second Director of the FBI
Hoover's boss who started the Red Raids, Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer*

*Palmer promoted himself as "The Fighting Quaker." After some irate citizens expressed their displeasure by blowing up his house, he became known as "The Quaking Fighter." Not sure, but I think that name may have originated with the Christopher Hitchens of the 1920s, notorious agnostic/grump H.L. Mencken.

(111,367 posts)and I keep wondering why we don't see more of him. I guess it's because Hollywood is playing to teenagers and not bothering with characters any more, only car chases and things that go "boom." Besides package bombs, don't want to give the kiddies any ideas.
Now I'm going to have to look for this one, thanks for the info.

(9,356 posts)Even when he's playing a character we should hate - a high-school teacher trying to seduce a vulnerable student.
That's the movie "Blue Car," written and directed by Karen Moncrieff back in 2002:
