Kentucky warns Noah's Ark theme park over hiring practices

Oct 8 (Reuters) - The developer of a Noah's Ark-based theme park in Kentucky said on Wednesday he would fight for his religious rights after state officials warned he could lose millions in potential tax credits if he hires only people who believe in the biblical flood.

Ark Encounter, which is slated to open in 2016 in Williamston, Kentucky, is not hiring anyone yet, but its parent company Answers in Genesis asks employees to sign a faith statement including a belief in creationism and the flood.

State officials and Ark Encounter lawyers have exchanged letters in which the state threatened not to proceed with tax incentives for the park if there was discriminatory hiring practices, a state official confirmed on Wednesday.

The letters between the parties came to light after the Louisville Courier-Journal and the Lexington Herald-Leader obtained them through open records requests.

Field trip for A/A members from DU

Beer, boxed wine, BBQ baby, and pie

I want to see them get 30,000 species of arachnid on that ark (boat).
Or is it like the raging Rapids
I'm sure we would be asked to leave either way.

About those 30,000 species of arachnid, and all the thousands of animals and millions of insects, don't you remember the part in the Noah story where as they entered the ark, God shrunk them all to the size of an atom. Or was it like a clown car?

then I guess every insect and animal on the ark is also still around today? in unchanged form?

But then of course you get the cover-up cop-out that God created everything and THEN allowed evolution to work it's thing. God can cover all the bases, don'cha know?

I've often seen the argument posted here that the bible is just a collection of morality plays, and that most believers don't take it literally. It seems like AiG begs to differ. Especially the begging part.

Old Yahweh doesn't like the way things are going down on earth so he murders everything.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about:

"Escape From Tomorrow" is a very bizarre (and interesting) movie about an average 'Murikin family during a normal day at Disney World.

Well, "normal" except for the bloody fangs appearing on characters in the "Small World" ride, Disney princesses being sold to Asian businessmen, and the German scientist conducting human experiments under EPCOT center. Oh, and an outbreak of deadly Cat Flu virus Disney is trying to hush up.

For the most part, the flick was shot right inside Disney World. Mind-boggling, when you consider the Disney levels of paranoia about their corporate image. Some scenes were even shot on the actual rides, roller coasters, etc.

They did it by using people who looked like ordinary tourists, carrying consumer-grade Canon cameras. Thereby not attracting the attention of the Disney SS (Security Services!). Because they obviously couldn't walk around lugging a Panavision camera and crew, the movie is in black-and-white.

Disney lawyers are "aware" of EFT, but haven't filed any massive lawsuits or anything yet. Probably wise of them, since that would just get the movie more attention.

I would love to see somebody do this to the Ark Encounter. In fact, I think I'll start writing the script: The Grundy family discovers that the Sodom & Gomorrah exhibit is more realistic than they ever imagined...
