because as I've learned from those so much more respectful of religiosity than I am, anyone who claims to follow the pirate religion ought to be hanged or drowned or preferably both.

Plus pi.

But in the end, I went with Colbert...because Colbert, and of course, we all know that Moses got the stone tablets from God in the form of a burning bush on the mountain. The oddest part of that is that God gives him tablets, freaking God gives him tablets, and what does he do? He throws them down and breaks them! Me, I would never have done anything but cherish them and protect them if I got them from freaking God! Obviously, Moses had real anger issues.

And of course, Joseph Smith was a nut case.

5. Upgrade Your Worldview, Maher Edition...

I went with "upgrade." Thinking not only of Colbert, but Bill Maher's similar statement. It went something like this:

Of course I'd change my mind if, say, Jesus came back during half-time at the Super Bowl. I'd say - 'Well, look at that. There he is! I was wrong.'"

Because

1. Religion has everything to do with the good things religious people do

and

2. Religion has nothing to do with the atrocities committed by religious people because they were simply following the instruction manual
