1. I wish every politician didn't end every speech with "god bless you and may god bless America"

Well, not every speech but it certainly feels like it.

2. I wish that my Democratic party, in the interest of "inclusiveness"....

didn't now have THREE prayers before it's convention.

Now I have to sit through a Christian prayer, a Muslim prayer and a Jewish prayer.

Just so "everyone" is included.

And I AM bothered by "under god" in the pledge, because I feel like
I am being forced by peer pressure to say it.

I notice that people other than myself hold their breath for that phrase.

I don't run into "God Bless America" very often.

(or play the national anthem which we do once a week). I don't say the "under God" part. I can tell the students that notice and they stop saying it, too. Nobody has made a big deal out of it....yet.

It's a crappy song anyway. I hate the melody. The only one worse is "This Land is Your Land"

But I like the national anthem.... even if you do have to change registers in the middle.

6. I'm sure I am viewed as un-American, but I don't really give a shit about their opinions, either.

But I find most people just assume that you're sparing them a bad singing voice. Now the pledge, well, that's another story.
