The Awesomeness of the universe we live in. THAT is god.
How wonderful would the world be if everyone used the same definition?

(20,885 posts)Any number of universes might be much more awesome.
Their gods might be laughing at our god's fuck-ups. It could happen.

(17,505 posts)Then why not just call it "the awesomeness of the universe we live in?" Why call it god?
Like the "god of the gaps". God is all the things we don't know.... the unknowable. Well, why not just call that "all the things we don't know"?
Besides, that's not what a god is, and you know it. A god is usually some entity that is basically a human with superpowers. A god does human things, like talk to people, make desicions, judges people and things... things the universe does not do.
It's like trying to make an obsolete concept relevant, all this redefining.

(19,705 posts)I agree with every point you make. You are spot on. That's why I said in my OP that if I had to define god, that is what it is.

(17,505 posts)Hmmmmm.... a subtle point.... but I get it.
If I had to define god, I'd say it was a delusion perpetrated by our propensity to anthropomorphize everything.... especially nature.

(29,047 posts)So your definition of god would be one's reaction to the universe we live in.

I dont have a problem with false color itself, just the way it looks in that image.
