Your host is Jenny McCarthy. Jenny has a 4-year-old son, Evan, who is a Crystal child. Being blessed with Evan led Jenny to have the inspiring vision to create this meeting place.

9. Turns out I've developed a case of the sniffles

Feels just like a regular cold, though less severe than I usually get.

Predictably, the coworkers who declined the vaccine ("because I don't want to get the flu&quot have chimed in with a chorus of "I told you so."

The hand-out that came with the vaccine includes the following, but try telling it to the believers:

Serious side effects are also possible, but are very rare.
Inactivated flu vaccine does not contain live flu virus, so
getting flu from this vaccine is not possible.

12. You're not getting the flu. But you might be getting an immune response.

The sniffles isn't the flu virus. It's your body mounting a defense.

I often liken the flu shot as handing a 'wanted poster' to your immune system. Your body still has to do all the heavy lifting. If your immune system has seen that strain of the flu before, not surprising you might get a mild response. You might get the sniffles. Your temp might go up. These are all things your body does to turn yourself inhospitable to the invader.

An invader the flu shot has given your body just cause to think is inside the walls.

Edit: Or, of course, it could be something totally unrelated. Like a mild cold.
