in Minnesota. As I've been trying to catch a glimpse of Jupiter+Saturn, to no avail for more than a week.

We've been cloudy all the time at night for more than a week, and oddly (speaking of weather), no snow on the ground, and no precipitation between now and December 27 (a couple of days have 20% precip probability, one with 25%). And yet all days out to Dec 27 are forecast to be partly cloudy or cloudy with one exception.

Anyway, the closest approach of the two planets is December 21, so there's time.

And one has to remember to get out within an hour or at most two after sunset, unless you've got an unobstructed view of the distant southwest horizon, then maybe add a half an hour more.

We usually have clouds whenever there's something cool happening in the night sky.

How beautiful! Thank you so much for posting this....I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise. It’s snowing hard here in western MT.
