My test results!

I have a hemotoma on my left kidney, a bruise. It was causing some bleeding. That is why there was blood in my urine. My doc found evidence of a viral infection in my blood and urine tests. That is why I was sick with flu symptoms for more than a month. She was apologetic about giving me that answer, but that is all there was. That, combined with the travel, stress, and shock of Tom's death made things worse.

I am feeling better, but tired. I am going to resume my normal diet and activities over the next couple of weeks. I will know how much I can do.

My daughter is still coping with a lot. Her husband's ex is trying to nickel and dime her to death in court. This will stop. She will find out that I did not raise any fools, and we will all present a united front. The woman has been handed a very large life insurance payout, because he had to carry the insurance, per their divorce agreement. She will go away, whether she likes it or not.

My youngest daughter needs some support, too. I will see what I can do. She has been involved in aikido for about ten years. A beloved teacher and mentor of hers died about a week before Tom's death. She went to a memorial, but has been given no time to process or mourn his death.

I will have more frequent blood tests and urine tests. Every six months I will have an ultrasound, to see what the kidney is doing. Things should heal.

When I go back to the gym, I will have to remember that I am sixty-six, not nineteen.

I am relieved to hear about your test results. Bruises heal!

Sometimes it really is hard to remember just how old we really are.

I wish your daughter all the good luck in the world, as she deals with that vicious ex. Thank goodness she (your daughter, that is) has all of you for support.

And I am very sorry to hear about the loss your youngest daughter is suffering. I am glad she has you to help her.

I had blood in my urine and it took them forever to find that I had a viral infection from unknown causes. They also found out I had very very early cancer and took care of that poof. So although I went through a few diagnosis until they found the virus. it did help that they found the cancer, never would have looked for it and it was not causing the bleeding and in an unrelated area.

Note: when I got divorced, settled up front, never have to see or speak to each other again --- but he is a lazy procrastinator and I keep getting some of his IRA info in the mail, so I called the bank and he never changed survivor benefits over to his new wife (20 years ago! wife) - what to do????

I'm happy that it's fixable and you're on the mend.

I'm so very sorry your family has been slapped in the face with the death of a loved one and now having to cope with the horribleness of his family.

Your children are SO very lucky to your strength and love to see them through these very trying times MurielM. Please though, remember your are of no help to them if YOU end up more sick than you already are. Take care of you first and then the family matters will not seem quite so overwhelming.

You have my best vibes for a speedy recovery and strength to deal with these difficult family issues.

When we went East after Tom's death, I was very sick. I was bitchy to my husband, in pain, and running a temperature most of the time.
Now I am on the mend, although I am still very tired.

I will be more help to everyone now that I am getting healthy again.
