Bah humbug

Another Christmas without receiving a card from my two Trump loving born again Evangelical Christian brothers.

I am 75 years old.
One brother is 80 and the other 74.

Apparently when it comes to "What would Jesus do?"
the answer is
"Don't send that left winger a Christmas card!"

I did receive a 15 page handwritten letter from my cousin who has Alzheimer's.
She listed about 20 people she knew over her lifetime who have died and the various causes for their death.
I knew none of them.

But, hey, she thought of me at Christmas and sent me a letter.

Ho ho ho
Merry Christmas to all !

I have a turkey TV dinner in the freezer waiting for me later today.
Oh, and some peach cobbler. 🙃

Enjoy your solitude, and your supper and cobbler.

My friend invited me for paella on Christmas, her 2 nieces were driving up, another local friend was invited, so 5 ladies, vaxed and boosted. My friend hasn't been feeling well, had a PCR test that will give results on Monday. One of her neices was exposed, also took test that will be in Monday, so they're not coming even if my friend wasn't isolating.
So Christmas supper is cancelled.

My friend in NYC called me last night, similar story.
His son and new bride are visiting from Mexico, since 12/1. They were having symptoms last week, found out they were exposed, now isolating. Friend is too, but his Christmas is cancelled too. Their test results are due Monday too.
We'll spend some time together on the phone.

Now I'm scrambling to figure out what I'll eat for supper. I was really looking forward to that homemade paella. Oh well, another time.

But honestly, looking forward to the solitude. And the Christmas stollen I got from my favorite bakery.

Denny's is open Christmas.

It is my plan to order a Grand Slam pancake breakfast,
scrambled eggs and sausage delivered by doordash.

I went there 3 years ago.
But thanks for suggesting Denny's, I'd forgotten about them.
I might order something from them this year!
I'm working til 4, will stop at the grocery store afterwards, might get a steak to grill.
I'm more concerned about supper. Lol

I sent this card to my only living distant friend and to you.
I'm having a ton of jumbo cocktail shrimp and a deep dish french
apple pie. Binge watching some great series.
Ho ho ho
Merry Christmas
