2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie Sanders ads are killing it with Democrats and Independents
Commercials from the Sanders campaign, released over the last 180 days, dominated a list of top political ads ranked by effectiveness by ad-scoring firm Ace Metrix. The scores were based on eight metrics, including whether people enjoyed watching the ads, thought they were persuasive, agreed with the overall messages, were driven to seek more information, learned something from them, thought they were credible, found them relevant, and whether the ads grabbed their attention.
Ace Metrix scored 152 political ads released over the last six months, based on interviews with 500 national registered voters per ad. The respondent pool was evenly balanced, the company said, between those who self-identified as voting Republican, voting Democratic, and voting Independent.
Commercials produced by the Sanders campaign made up seven of the top 10 most-effective ads as determined by overall voters, because they performed well with both Democrats and Independents, the results showed.

Democrats liked the Sanders ads because they consistently focused on increasing family income, equal pay, making college affordable, fair and reasonable health care policies, and fairness in taxation, Mark Bryant, vice president of Ace Metrix Politics, told Quartz. And Independents identified with their aspirational, anti-establishment tone, he said.
[Sanders] ads are resonating so well with Independents that it leads to him doing really well overall, Bryant said. Beyond the primaries, thats where many of the campaigns will be focused, he added, with candidates targeting swing votes.

There is a nice graph on the link depicting the share of average annual U.S. party political identification and also links taking you directly to the above mentioned ads.

(55,981 posts)that that's what grassroots citizens are. The whole Sanders campaign is against the opposite of "amateurish". We are against the establishment that has been corrupted by big money. I think those that support Clinton like the security that is offered by the non-amateurish, the professionals, the establishment, the big money. Sadly they don't understand that they are being used, that the Oligarchy doesn't really love them and will throw them under the limo at first opportunity.

(11,785 posts)No ominous announcer or scare music. Mostly just Bernie, talking about the things he believes in. I'm sure some will say that it cuts the cost of making an ad, but it makes him come across as someone who doesn't need to distance himself from his own campaign ads.

(2,338 posts)My long since departed surrogate dad was Italian. With a name like Paparozzi, what else could he be. If you held his hands down, the man couldn't utter a coherent sentence. He also had no volume control. Flailing arms, loud mouth....one of the best men I ever have known. #2 if I had to make a list.
Bernie reminds me of him. And both are dearly loved in my book.

(51,076 posts)Its by standing together that we win this. Never in my life have we had a more honest, straight forward person with his head screwed on right, so to say, to vote for for our President than Bernie Sanders. In that I'm going to do all I can to see that he is our President going forward from January of '17

I was thinking that just maybe Bernie Sanders grass roots campaign just might be better than Barrack Obama's was
in 2008. Now that would be a huge accomplishment but the momentum is certainly going Bernie's way now.
This is a great AD as are all
