2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSo we've moved from, "Bernie will never be president" to...
"Even if he is, he'll never do anything/everything."
Nice.

(45,251 posts)Also a much better shot at coattails and at beating the Republican in the general.

(45,251 posts)If Hillary is the nominee, I think she'll lose the general decisively. If Bernie is the nominee, I think he'll win it decisively.

(10,345 posts)It's reminiscent of stomping your feet, folding your arms and pouting.
Tis better to proclaim what you're for rather than what you're against. It's just a really negative mindset going on. Not healthy.

(10,345 posts)will you be one of the ones to leave DU if Bernie wins then?
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)Are you going to be consistent?
retrowire
(10,345 posts)without legitimate critique then sure.
but I can't recall seeing any sigs like that.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)Good day.
retrowire
(10,345 posts)but everyone else reserves the right to make judgment based on that.
I don't need to ignore you as really, your sig just gets pity from me, it's no skin off my back. but I'm only advising you that it looks childish. it's really not becoming of a democrat who wants progress.
it's just an echo of someone who'd rather get in the way then lend a hand. :/
that's what people see when they read that. see, if you had a critique of Bernie then it would seem more helpful to those who want to know "why not Bernie?" but your Sig is just, "I see the flow and I will NOT go with it, harumph"
ease up, and lend a hand. it doesn't have to be to Bernie. but, come on.
hrmjustin
(71,265 posts)Try being consistent. Start with the ridiculous sigline above.
retrowire
(10,345 posts)I can keep going on and on, just like you can keep flying that flag of sig. lol
didn't you mention an ignore feature or something?
BeanMusical

(7,160 posts)I always lend a hand wherever I go. I have been lending a hand to help candidates from the Democratic Party since 1976, when I was 7. I have only missed 2 elections since 1987, when I was on bedrest and when I moved and missed the deadline to register. My vote is important to me.

(3,795 posts)By that I mean we might actually have a MORE progressive Congress at the end of his term after having a President that talks to the American people and tells them what IS possible (not what ISN'T possible).
We would be building a progressive movement with Bernie as President, and that would take some time. How long just might be much less than Bernie's detractors are willing to admit though.
Bottom line: Bernie as President BEGINS the conversation of building a progressive movement and telling the American people we can do it and HOW to do it.
Hillary as President ensures that none of that happens. After her Presidency we will not have even begun to build on truly progressive principles. Hillary will tell us why we CAN'T have progressive policies implemented and she will convince some Democrats that this is the truth.
We can not afford Hillary when we have a candidate like Bernie running. It would be a very unwise move.

(63,912 posts)believe in his message then they will go out in droves to vote on their issues and the House and Senate will change. Then he can get something done.
If the people feel hopeful that things can change, why wouldn't they vote accordingly in the other offices?
