2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWho is a real leader? What do leaders do that sets them apart from mere managers?
It takes a leader to create the momentum, it takes a vision to direct the momentum, it takes a massive action to build on the momentum, and it takes self-discipline to sustain the momentum. Momentum is the bridge between a vision and its results
― F. Asl
Who has the momentum? Not Hillary!
Who has the vision? Not Hillary as her surrogates have been pointing out!
Hillary's inability to create momentum, her inability to fashion a vision that inspires young and old, across party lines reveal a person who may be a competent manager but not a leader.
BERNIE HAS THE MOMENTUM. BERNIE HAS THE VISION. BERNIE HAS WHAT IT TAKES TO MAINTAIN THE MOMENTUM.
Bernie is a proven leader.

(28,749 posts)You must have the wrong candidate. Clinton IS NOT the revolution. But she will take $33K each for a shit sandwich.

(28,749 posts)That's not how it works and you know it.
You realize we haven't seen anything yet? This primary is pretty gentle.

(975 posts)I don't know, nor do I care. Email the Sanders campaign and ask them.

(28,749 posts)Who cares what we will be up against in the GE.

(975 posts)Your candidate just destroyed a key part of the Democratic Party platform we've worked on for decades. Do YOU care? Not one bit.
You have no room to tell anyone, EVER AGAIN, about what they care about and deserve. That's the fucking height of arrogance and entitlement. That you or your candidate think you're entitled to anything after doing what she did.

(28,749 posts)Those aren't words in your mouth those are words from your mouth.

(975 posts)Why should I if YOU don't? Seriously. I've seen your posts and comments and you don't care. You go to great lengths to make that clear to everyone.
That's the problem with the cut-throat politics Clinton is playing. If you piss off the people who's help you need, you just won't get that help when the time comes. They'd rather sit back and watch you fail. And you can guarantee it's going to fail because it can't do anything else.
Also, welcome to politics. Maybe next time you could stand for something instead of falling for anything. Especially shitty politics like hers. eom

(28,749 posts)Volunteering in my spare time canvassing throughout NH, attending events, and working to elect democrats and not just Hilllary Clinton but democrats in local elections both in NH and MA. I've worked hard recently to get a democrat elected as mayor to the second largest city in NH, and I worked hard to get Elizabeth Warren elected as well.
I also had the pleasure of working to get Bernie elected both to The House, and the Senate when I lived in Vermont. He is a good guy, and a great politician, but not who I am voting for in the primary.
So your welcome to politics isn't needed as I've been involved for quite a while, oh and I do care and have done lots to show how much I care. I find your assertion that I don't care baseless and a personal attack. I won't resort to them, they aren't for me.
What's telling is that you admit you'd rather sit back and watch someone fail, and seem to be okay with what that failure means?!?! Please.
I can tell you there is no way in hell I'll be doing that in 2016. Doesn't matter who the nominee is I'll be volunteering and donating to get them elected.
draa
(975 posts)but I'm not voting for Clinton if it's her.
Once the Florida primary is over(closed primary state) I'm leaving the Democratic Party. After 32 years I no longer want to associated with people like you. Seriously.
You, nor your candidate now what kind of damage you're doing to her chances or the party itself. Our party has lost 6% of it's base since 2008? Why, because they're tired of the sniping, and back biting, and outright betrayal like you candidate pulled with single payer. That was bad enough, but then all of you started lying about Sanders plan. Disgraceful. And you, and many other supporters, fucking cheered about it like blind lemmings. Goddamn pathetic.
When you'll drive away 30+ year members like me, then you have jumped the fucking shark over single payer. You must not fully understand how important that was to DFH's. No, it's clear you don't and it's no surprise considering how you've acted the past few days.
I will not support your candidate. I will not support neoliberal candidates. I will not donate or volunteer for this party. Even if Sanders is nominated and eventually wins I'm leaving this party with a hearty "fuck you" to each and every one of the cowards who now claim the mantle of Democrats.

(28,749 posts)ETA: No point.

(975 posts)You are but a symptom of what I see as the problem. This attitude of win at all costs even if it means lying because power is that important. This idea that it's ok to flip-flop around as long as we beat Republicans. This idea that we don't have to stand for anything anymore and doing nothing is better than trying.
That's not how I am and that's not how my party was before the Neoliberals showed up many years back. We used to care about people more than greed. Now, Obama has Wall Street near record highs while Childhood Poverty sits at 22%. That's the new Democratic Party. Oh, did I mention it's gone up since 2008 from 17% to 22%. That's not progress for ALL, Agschmid. That's progress for the few.
Stop supporting that shit and support someone who will at least try to fix the problem. Even if it's not my candidate.
Why you, or anyone else would support that is beyond me though. If you were the Democrat you claim you wouldn't support more of the same, or the status quo any longer. People need help and our party isn't helping. Clinton won't help any more than Obama helped. That's neoliberals though. They don't help.
Anyway, it's by no means all you so again, I apologize completely. Thanks.
