Doubling down on attacking @HRC and @PPFA. I have always been proud groups like these are on our side. #ImWithHer

Sanders dismisses major womens group as establishment

(9,823 posts)I'm sure that if you accurately polled the membership you'd come up with a different supported candidate.

(23,720 posts)It appears they've come full circle and are back to the "Sanders is a sexist" talking point.

(11,197 posts)Personally, I think it's a waste of time though. Nobody will buy it because the way you are attempting to paint his comments are simply naive and dishonest.

(5,018 posts)Endorse a war-monger establishment candidate for practical reasons, then act all aghast at the reaction, it just reinforces to me that there is a bubble the establishment must live in.
Clinton "came around" to not being a bigot a couple years ago, and before that, didn't mind using homosexuals as political fodder. So I think the reason HRC endorsed her is because she will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee, and the whole establishment is behind her, so it makes sense to get in good with her.
It just makes me sad that this is likely to be the leader of the most left party in the US.

(30,253 posts)So now PP and HRC are the establishment? Why? Because they wouldn't endorse him? Quite an arrogant statement.
I would be more concerned if I thought that, when all is said and done, Sanders would be the nominee. I still think that Hillary will prevail, regardless of what happens in IA and NH.

smh.

(23,720 posts)It didn't work the first time they call him a sexist and a homophobic bigot. I don't know what gives them the idea that it will work a second time. Just goes to show, they've got nothing left.

(10,345 posts)attacking an establishment is not equal to attacking that establishments movement.
I'm vegan. People attack PETA all the time. And they attack it for legitimate reasons. They're corrupt as hell and have done some heinous things to animals themselves. To me, they give my movement a bad name.
So if someone were to attack them, it's no skin off my movement's back. I'm sure some women and LGBT's feel the same about this as well.

(1,089 posts)The first one implied/intimated that Bernie is a racist. This one implies that he's a misogynist and a homophobe. None of those implications were all that subtle, either.
That's pretty ugly stuff.

(42,641 posts)of these groups, and the fact that many of these Washington based groups are part of the culture/establishment of Washington.
If Sanders disparages the work of these groups I will revisit my opinion, but nowhere in his remarks does he criticize the work being done. Just the politics of endorsements.
Of course this is just my personal interpretation.

(50 posts)"And to prove it, I'm going to attack groups that fight for LGBT Rights"
When Republicans attack these groups, we say they are 'doubling down on their hate' or sexism/homophobia, depending on what group they made their comments about.
I really have to wonder exactly what Sanders supporters are doubling down on with their attacks against organizations that fight for womens and LGBT rights.

I would not have predicted that Bernie would double down on the PP being part of the establish't. Cringing
