(25,242 posts)had heard throughout the campaign and Bernie took them on straight up - without flinching - and answered every one of them. He got them back. Go Bernie!!!
I think we have to thank Thom Hartmann for giving Bernie the weekly forum on his show - Brunch With Bernie - as I believe it prepared Bernie for this campaign.

Who is more likely to prevail in a general election? Would you acknowledge that Hillary Clinton has a better chance of winning the general?
He nailed it and we all know his answer is the correct one.
Bernie has the best chance to prevail in the general election.
He took it from there and did a great job.
Despite Citizens United, a well know Washington insider as a contender and a corporate owned media, Bernie and the people are going to win.
This is historic!

If Bernie was given the same courtesy as the rest of the candidates just imagine how the polls would look.

(975 posts)There's a clip floating around that shows that out of 800 minutes of airtime the different candidates have received Bernie has received 10 minutes total. Or about 10% of Clinton and 5% of Trump. It's ridiculous that our candidate is completely ignored.
That's why kicking the shit out of the establishment this cycle will be sweet.

(21,847 posts)The woman interviewer looks like a young version of Katie Couric. The networks seem to think that the public want younger versions of people they already know. Something about this strikes me as odd and makes me uncomfortable.

As far as Sanders blowing that sorry excuse for an interview by NBC out of the water - it's easy to do when your views on the issues are genuine and consistent, unlike 90% of the other goobers running for office.

The fact they even have him on disproves that.

(4,490 posts)imo, more interviews should go like that. The loaded Q&A's that I don't like are those where they don't let the person being interviewed answer the questions (the style Fox News has mostly adopted). I thought they did a surprisingly good job here for a short interview.

(626 posts)I don't think I have ever seen an interview, even on Fox "News", where the hosts were so openly hostile to their guests. The last few days has made it official. Bernie Sanders' campaign is a legitimate threat to PTB. It is EVERY Americans job to see to it that he wins.

Bernie answered these and many more with a smile on his face. Even complemented Matt Lauer on his question. It's no wonder Matt Lauer (looking exasperated) rushed to get Bernie off stage: this interview was not going to help Hillary in any way.
Bernie is genuinely too nice of a guy to become unhinged by cheap shots. He sees the best in everyone, even the cast of the Today Show. He didn't view these as gotcha questions, but as opportunities to explain his position to the American people who have been hearing these 'scary' labels ad infinitum.
Good move Bernie!

(7,820 posts)Most in my experience would say women should have the right to wear whatever they want. I think you seem to have some pretty skewed views about what feminism actually means.
zeemike
(18,998 posts)But you know well if that had been Bernie hand in hand on stage the uproar from some would have been defining and the accusations of using sex to sell would have been out there.
If you define feminism as women having equal rights to men then I am for it...if you are consistent with it.
What is skewed here is that if sexy dress is used for Hillary it is just fine but if it comes from the same people that will decry the sexual objectification of women in the media it is hypocrisy.

(1,370 posts)Hillary's the candidate who's surging in the polls and it's Bernie who's attacking Hillary. Straight out of Karl Rove's toy box.. Attack Bernie's strengths by claiming the reverse is true.. Hillary a known gutter campaigner when cornered, make it seem like it's Sanders who is desperately attacking Clinton...
Changing a corrupt economic system that favors the plutocrats is an impossible task..
Bernie's a gun nut, scary revolutionary Socialist , etc, etc
And Bernie owned the studio... So if this how Hillary expects to turn around her failing campaign, bring it on!!!!!!

(2 posts)He performed very well. What I am more concerned about is the last minute debate scheduled on Monday prime time at CNN. With the DNC withholding debates from us for so long, and then having a sudden change of heart with new poll numbers, makes me increasingly worried this is going to be a trap for Sanders with plenty of loaded and biased preselected questions from the audience.

However, the narrative that Hillary is surging is complete and utter nonsense. Unless, it has been redefined as closing the gap between them by allowing her competitor to catch up.

These questions, as a whole, were the kind that jounalists SHOULD ask (except the leading one about Hillary using expediency in choosing her positions--that question should have been asked of Hillary).
If Bernie could not have answered these questions, then he wouldn't be the candidate I think him.
