I will GLADLY vote to pay higher taxes if it helps ANYONE get better health coverage.

I would have thought it fit with the Democratic ideal.

Those of you posting about Bernie raising taxes, admitting it, and how BAD it is for him...? I can see right through you; my taxes go up, my insurance premium disappears, and you want to tell people that's a BAD thing.

in health care (a la Japan). Outrageous military and health care costs (high profitability for pharmaceutical companies, for example)--and NOT better coverage for the poor--is what makes us object to paying more in tax.

And, if it wasn't clear enough by the time of Bill Clinton, well, he made it pretty obvious to the densest among us when he declared, in his folksy and so-engaging way, "The era of big government is over."

That was a slap in the face.

Expect Hillary to come out with, "Read my lips..." real soon.

Fuck the third way sideways.

15%. I can afford that given the tax increase/premium decrease equation.

about the cost of health insurance and care that is equal to a *MORTGAGE PAYMENT. And he was middle aged on the young side, not an older person. Amen, I rest my case.

This predatory for profit, private corporate US healthcare 'system' is obscene, archaic and alone in the advanced world, for decades. It's ruining the financial security and lives of Americans for some 20 years now. It must end and be replaced with single payer, absolutely.

enough to be able to afford healthcare ALREADY pay a massive tax for that 'care.'

This tax is called a 'premium,' and it goes to pay for coverage with an insurance company whose interest conflicts with yours; you want good healthcare and they don't want to pay out. So they nickel and dime us to death.

My 'premium' is a whopping 18.5% of my gross pay. No shit. And it is shitty, rationed healthcare with high copays and high deductibles.

Would I accept a 10% tax increase to have the kind of care Brits enjoy? or Dutch?

You bet I would!

Because, HEY CNN, NEWS FLASH - I'd actually be SAVING MONEY. That's right CNN...I'd be SAVING money. Did you hear that CNN? I'd be BETTER OFF with single payer.

But hey, we're cool - got the pundits flapping their jaws and the corporate propaganda organs all over the country trumpeting out the one sentence, "Yes, I'll raise taxes..." without talking about the savings. Yep.

And I'll be caucusing for Bernie. Me and my whole family. WE WANT SINGLE PAYER NOW.

And, CNN, you don't control the message any longer. All of us do.

All within just a bit over a year's time. Calculator for savings said I would save over $9000 a year on Bernie's Plan. Being unemployed, a senior and too young for Medicare yet, I approve this message.
