Right on cue, Iowa polls show Hillary and Bernie tied.

We really are a stupid lot. Bernie leads for weeks, then, just before the caucus, the race tightens! It's a tie! It's anyone's guess! Watch our coverage, not theirs! But first, a word from Exxon/Mobile and Monsanto.

2. The MSM is still claiming they're neck and neck in NH.

Virtually every poll has him up by double digits. Some as high as 22%. But they're "neck-and-neck."

I have been following this race closely and have seen no such thing. He is, accurately, reported as in the lead in polls in NH.

It should be interesting. I'm staying at my sister's house, so no worries. But a friend who does retail store set-ups has been staying in one of the residence suites places while opening up a new store. He got a call from hotel management telling him they'd pay for him to move out and find another place to stay. I think I'll have to unpack my Obama democratic convention t-shirts just for fun.

4. Some polls have Bernie ahead in Iowa and some have Hillary ahead

and some have them in an essential tie. What does it mean? It means it will be close. There is no conspiracy.

Only encourages the Sanders people to get out there and take nothing for granted. I'm surprised the media isn't saying its a Clinton landslide so Bernies people might as well stay home.

At real clear the last 7 polls, Bernie up in 4, Hillary in 3, she is ahead in the average by a tiny amount.

If you do all polls you can see, clearly, that there is no stretch where Bernie leads all polls with a tightening of the race. None, not a single solitary stretch.

I believe it is a business decision by media outlets. Nobody cares about the the Patriots playing the Cowboys. But they know people will tune in to watch a tough fight. No conspiracy. Just marketing. Every race since the stolen Bush election, with W's cousin working the desk at Fox "News," has been a dead tie...it's always neck and neck! Exciting! Tune in and watch, and don't forget to support our sponsors.

No conspiracy. Just good marketing.

Obama won by a ton in 08, and had a clear small lead for the entire month from early October until election day in 12. I will agree that the press coverage in 12 made it seem closer than it was but Obama was clearly ahead for most of October.

It was a nail-biter, they told us. We all knew better, but the media had to spin it as a horse race in order to sell ad space.

12. RCP Average has had Clinton and Sanders in a statistical tie for the last week

and I'm shocked. I would expect the polls to be artificially skewed toward their chosen one.

13. My take is nearly the opposite of yours - since February 2013, when HRC stepped down as Secretary,
Thu Jan 28, 2016, 10:35 AM
Jan 2016

the story was that the nomination was hers - no one could get the least traction. Hey, in January 2014 -- 73 percent of those Democrats polled picked HRC (ABC/Washington Post - January 20-23) Bernie Sanders had 10 percent after he jumped into the race.

It is not true that Bernie has led for weeks - there have been SOME polls that showed him ahead ... and some showing HRC ahead. To make things more complicated, recent polls try to model who will show up - not just who people say they are for. The results depend on what the pollsters use as their screen for who is a likely "voter".

My point, do not play into the narrative that Sanders had this sewn up ... and now Clinton is the comeback kid.
