Related: About this forumHillary's Corporate Democrats Taking Down Bernie Sanders
This by Ralph Nader - "spoiler" 1/29/15
Even though he said he would not run as an Independent and be a spoiler like Nader,
..the spoiled corporate Democrats in Congress and their consultants are mounting a "stop Bernie campaign." They believe he'll "spoil" their election prospects,
What comes around goes around. Despite running a clean campaign, funded by small donors averaging $27, with no scandals in his past and with consistency throughout his decades of standing up for the working and unemployed people of this country, Sanders is about to be Hillaried. Her Capitol Hill cronies have dispatched Congressional teams to Iowa.
Bernie Sanders, however, does present a moral risk for the corrupt Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee, which are already turning on one of their own leading candidates. His years in politics so cleanly contrasts with the sordid, scandalized, cashing-in behavior of the Clintons.

(24,324 posts)I happened to be in Austin on Nov 4, 2008 for a convention. Around 5 pm I wandered around looking for a place to eat. Just around the corner I found The Driskill, big classic, old famous hotel..
I went inside and the lobby was packed. I had no idea what was happening. I went up the grand staircase to one of the huge ballrooms. and YIKES- it was the Texas Democratic Part gathering to watch the election night returns.
2-3 connected ballrooms I think. Big screen TVs. Place was packed. Within about 30 minutes there was a line 3 deep all the way around the block.. Cops trying to control everything- did a good job.
As results came in the anticipation was a physical sensation.. When Obama won the place went beserk!! Everybody screaming, yelling crying, hugging total strangers....
The next day was my birthday. :>
Well, I will tell you, if Bernie pulls off Iowa, that will be an even BIGGER thing!!!!
And BECAUSE of who he is and because he is the real deal.'
My chin is now up.. Thanks--

(13,685 posts)Bernie snuck up on them. How many times were we told people liked Bernie but he didn't stand a chance?
So now, the polls are screaming that Bernie will win NH and may just take Iowa.
Bernie's opposition was counting their chickens before they hatched and just let H commit political suicide before they realized we were sneaking up on them.
Except we weren't sneaking... we've been out loud for 9 months, they just refused to hear us.
Here's a thread of mine from 9 months ago

Bernie: He's not an Obama. He's the Real Deal

(24,324 posts)I knew from the start also that Bernie was the real deal. I just didn't know HOW MUCH until I read his book!
I also didn't know what a great "politician" he is. And, as he said somewhere in a video someone posted, when being accused of cheating, lying, etc, "Win or lose we will do it honestly!"
He was righteously pissed..

Haven't seen him for quite a while.
Wonder why?
We know why Nancy.
Keep your gravy train supporting minions out of Iowa.
The .01% isn't running our country much longer.
Fair warning.
The people have awoken.

The empire and oligarchy will not be challenged.
Who am I? Nobody.
Who is Ralph Nader?
Someone who has never been challenged for telling tales.

(624 posts)Latest polls from Iowa have Hillary ahead and possibly gaining. Hope those polls are wrong!!!! Phone banking for Bernie over the weekend. Hope the young ones come out and caucus and that they are being underestimated as to how many will actually caucus for him.

(10,336 posts)I make no comment about the author of the quote, for reasons too lame at this point to even go there, but you can surely tell how I feel by my refusal to utter his name. Felt the need to explain my kick and recommend.
