If my grand kids can get free college and my kids get a break on their
Federal loans and Donald Trump pays his share of taxes, then I don't give two cents if his kid(s) get free college, too. If Donald is paying his taxes, why shouldn't his kids benefit. Means testing is a stealth method of taking programs away from the middle class while ensuring there isn't enough funding to aid the poor.

1. Congress isn't going to pass that. Not in a million years.
You'd do better to try to elect a governor who will fund state college through, say, weed sales or something.

3. Not with the Republicans.
But you better bet that if Bernie wins the primary we're looking at a Dem. down ticket and I think you'll eat your words.

4. We won't get both houses, and not all Democrats are
"liberal Democrats."
You think these guys are going to get that spirit? http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/defecting-senate-democrats I don't. And they're not going anywhere. |

5. I was referring specifically to the charge that free publiccollege would be bad
because that rich guy over there might benefit, too.
To me, that is the perfect demonstration of the difference between demanding economic fairness and exploiting feelings of class war without delivering a solution. |
