Sanders did two things tonight that were pretty good strategically...

...

1. Wall Street Contributions: An old favorite of his. Calls out to younger voters tired of seeing what's going on in Washington and feeling screwed.

2. Kissinger: A new line. Speaks to older voters who will actually know who this is and why it matters. A knock on her obvious foreign policy advantage.

I'm a millennial. I had no idea who Kissinger was until I looked it up after the last debate. Bernie played this one well and definitely had messages out there in this debate for all types of voters for all types of concerns.

When he announced the end of American involvement in the Vietnam War, I was happy. Heck, I might have even voted for Nixon that year, for that alone, if I had been old enough.

It wasn't until several years later, when I had a professor who had a Chilean wife, that I learned the rest of the story. And he encouraged us to watch the movie "Missing", and that just sealed the deal.

She raises generic dem talking points, nothing creative or worthy of her high intelligence and hourly fee. Bernie seems to be spending more time figuring out things that need to be done and tactically how to accomplish them.

I think the point Bernie is trying to make, is that our past foreign policy

decisions still affect and influence the policy decisions of the day.

The U.S. has made some terrible choices !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bernie looks at the history of those choices before he makes his

decisions on today's policies.

He is a wise man.

I am 62 years old.

I love millennials.

I also agree "Information is power".

That is why I love the internet !!!

It is a great educational tool.

I have only been online since 2008.

There is no way to calculate how much I have learned about the

history of this country and politics.

Our son also learned who Kissinger was after the Clinton's brought up his name recently.

The younger generation is not listening to the corporate media channels, many do not even have cable, but they can quickly research an item of interest as they all have internet access!

There is a trail that leads back to Kissinger in the Nixon effort to derail the Vietnam peace talks.

In the Price of Power (1983), Seymour Hersh revealed Henry Kissinger—then Johnson’s adviser on Vietnam peace talks—secretly alerted Nixon’s staff that a truce was imminent.

According to Hersh, Nixon “was able to get a series of messages to the Thieu government [of South Vietnam] making it clear that a Nixon presidency would have different views on peace negotiations.”

Johnson was livid. He even called the Republican Senate Minority Leader, Everett Dirksen, to complain that “they oughtn’t be doing this. This is treason.”

He did note Millennials haven't a clue about Kissinger, but it was a strange comment made by Hillary. Then he of all people actually insinuated that maybe it was because she is an insider. Thinking it is cool that she hangs around with Kissinger, that she is part of the club.

good for you for doing the research. One complaint I have about Bernie is his habit of going to the canned Wall Street speech, yet on other issues he needs to spend a bit more time educating and explaining to the potential voters.

in-crowd, discontent about pensions and the lack of jobs, about jobs, about jobs, about opportunity, about debt.

It is a shorthand to people who are outside, who are not inside.

If you are inside, then it may seem to be a canned speech. But for the rest of us, it is a code for everything that ails the economy and foreign policy in our country.

For many, many Americans, it is becoming increasingly clear that Bernie's "canned Wall Street speech" says it all.

Foreign policy -- Wall Street's.

Trade policy -- Wall Steet's.

Jobs -- Wall Street.

No pay raises -- Wall Street.

Wall street stands for all the economic unfairness, peoples' sense that they are on a treadmill to nowhere when it comes to their economic futures.

...that a politician COULD be saying this. People are so used to utter bullshit and doubletalk from politicians, both D's and R's, that they've just turned it all off. Boy, are they about to get a nice surprise!

Yeah, we've heard it all, but we're better informed than most people, and certainly than people in all the states that have yet to hold their primary. They're just getting little blips from the corporate media right now, with Sanders largely black-holed. Iowa/New Hampshire woke some up, but I'd guess not that many. So many people will be hearing his views for the first time at the next debate. This is WHY the pro-Hillary DNC tried to limit debates, and not have one at all close to Super-Tuesday. (Gawd!) Once people hear Bernie, certain groups--young voters including young women voters, independents, working class people--flock to him (tell their friends and families, tell pollsters, send donations, volunteer), and others begin to doubt Clinton. For many, it's a first to hear a politician blasting "Wall Street."

He also claimed population growth in "Lesser Developed Countries" was a threat to U.S. national security.

He listed 13 countries to be kept down through famine and war. I had to look them up again: India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, Nigeria, Egypt, Ethiopia, Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia.
