I suspect Romney is waiting to see if the Santorum bubble (eww!) deflates on its own. But if that doesn't happen soon, I'll bet we get Florida redux: a massive, well funded negative-ad campaign that gives Mittens a win (maybe) but further damages his standing with independents. Either that, or he really does lose to Santorum. But remember: no matter who loses, Obama wins!

Santorum getting the votes. The 2 biggest winners here last GOP primary were McCain and Romney, both fairly traditional GOP candidates. Michigan has areas where radical social conservatives win elections, but I'm not sure one could carry the whole state. If Romney dies here, it will be because of his attitude about letting the car companies go under, not social issues.

That is rather shocking, i to, would be surprised if Santorum wins, and if he does, he truly could be the GOP nominee..

If we were only a few days away from the primary, I'd feel more confident. But since we're not and have a long way to go.

It's not over yet. Romney may rebound in the closing days.

Problem for him: Should he go negative??!?!?

Mitt Romney has a real problem here in Michigan with his comments about the auto bailouts years ago. He basically said let the auto industry fail and that the bailouts would not work. This isn't flying very well here in Michigan.

Romney's dad was governor of Michigan from 63-69--a whole lot of Michigan voters don't remember him at all. And the automaker Romney the Elder used to run was bought out by Chrysler in 1987. Same Chrysler Romney the Younger says should have been allowed to go belly-up.

I had no idea that American Moters was bought out by Chrysler. And now the GOP is livid that Chrysler is now doing well. What a bunch of loser!!!
