this Trump steamroller. Anchors are looking truly stricken.
Per MSNBC tonight (Rachel) she is implying that Trump's is a "celebrity campaign." More about the showmanship than anything (certainly not values, policy).
Our celebrity infatuation is finally getting us back.

(15,036 posts)turned the State around and placed it on a much more solid footing in just a few short years.
One of the big troubles, as I remember, was the number of fools who believed Schwarzenegger would do a great job as Governor because he had been involved with so many films that were real blockbusters and made beaucoup bucks. It was impossible to convince these rubes, however, that the success of the film -- both as an artistic endeavor and as a business deal -- owed far more to the director and producers than it did the hired help. Hell, Schwarzenegger took orders, stood where he was supposed to, said his meager few lines, and flexed when the script called for it.
But try convincing an infatuated public that the vision they have of "actor" is nothing but a contrived make-believe character. If we wanted to put someone in the movies in charge, we'd have been better off getting Rob Reiner or Ron Howard, two gifted directors who were instrumental in all aspects of the success of their films, both dedicated liberals who would have steered the State in a positive manner.
Aah. No sense hashing over the past, except for the light it shines on our present situation. I just hope, whoever our candidate proves to be, they're savvy enough to show how unqualified Trump is to govern a democracy, especially when his past has been nothing but an autocratic management of a sole proprietorship.

Oh, we DO have our own populist candidate?
Let's nominate him because no one is enthusiastic about out status quo candidate!
