"Hillary's New Wall Street Dodge: "I'm Being Singled Out!""

By greywolfe359

Bernie’s hour ended on such a heartwarming note for me. I was in the middle of writing about his authentic, genuine and deeply moving reflection on his spirituality when the moderator asked Hillary Clinton about her Wall Street speech transcripts.

Thanks for ruining the moment for me, Madam Secretary.

“I’ve said I’ll release these when EVERYONE does, including the Republicans” and then, playing the poor (though financially well compensated) victim she says “Why am I being singled out!?”

How about this for an answer: Because you are the ONLY Democrat running for president who has a Super PAC and you are the ONLY Democrat running for president who has given paid speeches to Wall Street and made millions doing so.

And actually, you weren’t even singled out. Bernie was asked for his, too. He doesn’t have any! This is the whole point. This is a Democratic primary. You don’t get to point the finger at Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush and say I should be held to THOSE standards. Really?

now sounds worse with each mention of the transcripts.

Playing herself as a victim is what she relies on and does not seem to
understand that too many American voters don't buy the right wing
conspiracy meme. They can presume she is responsible for her own
judgment despite her nonsensical responses.

When they later showed the bit from Colbert, wow.

when Hillary has many, many other options than to be 'in line of fire', unlike the majority of women.

Perpetual victim is not good, also tiresome.

Hillary alone took $21,000,000 between 2013-2015.

Half of Hillary Clinton’s Speaking Fees Came From Groups Also Lobbying Congress
Philip Elliott

Groups with giant lobbying budgets gave Clinton big speaking fees ahead of 2016 presidential campaign

Almost half of the money from Hillary Clinton’s speaking engagements came from corporations and advocacy groups that were lobbying Congress at the same time.

The Democratic presidential candidate earned $10.2 million in 2014, her first full calendar year after leaving the State Department. Of that, $4.6 million came from groups that also spent on lobbying Congress that year, according to data compiled by the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics....

...Asked Tuesday if there were conflicts of interest in speaking to these groups, Clinton was curt with reporters in Cedar Falls, Iowa. “No,” she said.

“Obviously, Bill and I have been blessed and we’re very grateful for the opportunities that we had...

Isn't it True that she's the only Dem candidate that Has such transcripts? How the Hell is that being "singled out" when she is the One who made the speeches in the first place? This is no "set up"....those are Her words that She willingly (for big money) stated. Let us See them so WE know what the hell she stands for....across the board.

If her stated words to Us are to be believed then wouldn't we expect to hear very similar statements of position when she speaks to the 1%? What's the worry then?

She's not an idiot, we all know she's a smart woman and she full well knows why we want to see those transcripts. I agree - can't believe she brought the Republicans into an primary issue.

Hillary needs Democrats to vote for her, this isn't the way to do it.

To paraphrase, they have two sitting senators who are prohibited from giving paid speeches, a sitting governor in the same boat, Donald Trump who is something of a pariah on Wall Street, and Ben Carson, who is...Ben Carson.

So everybody but Clinton has already released theirs. Time to pony up!

because, at first glance--it's easy to get outraged at HRC playing the victim.

But look at what HRC did. Clinton said that she would release the transcripts of her Wall Street speeches--when the Republicans did.

HRC has highlighted the fact that she is engaging in the same kind of scurrilous Wall-Street kow towing, as the Republicans.

Hillary Clinton gives speeches to Wall Street for millions of dollars. The Republicans give speeches to Wall Street for millions of dollars. Two bought-off factions in the same corrupt pod.

She just aligned her methods with the Republicans.

What everyone should be asking Hillary Clinton--Why did you drag this Republican-style, Wall-Street-led corruption into the Democratic Party?
