(15,189 posts)They taunt Bernie supporters in their Bubble so we can't respond. Cowards. They just ignore all her faults and pretend it's all wine and roses. We need to do more to bring the Queen of Fake down.

(40,416 posts)Because all the science says genetic modification is safe. The only disagreement is practice and business, not the basic science. The former has much to discuss; the latter is basically a done deal. There are no qualitative or quantitative differences between agricultural practices that go back thousands of years and modern genetic practices. Their results are identical to any measure.
So I cannot see this being politically important as long as one follows the science.
And I think Monsanto is evil incarnate. But they are not the only ones doing genetic modification, many for good.

The issues surrounding Monsanto have to do mostly with misconstrued and fabricated claims, mostly surrounding the safety of Roundup and its supposed mistreatment of farmers. And of course, Agent Orange, which is an interesting one because Monsanto, along with other chemical companies, initially refused to manufacture it for the government because they were well aware of the risks to people, and they told the government this. The government threatened them with legal sanctions, and the rest is history.
