17. I blame Sanders for allowing his campaign to smear Dolores Huerta.

I'm still very angry about this and I'm not going to forget it.

I watched the videos. Huerta's description of what took place was accurate. She was shouted off the stage, the moderator yelled "English only" and the crowd cheered.

People are accusing Huerta of lying because her tweet used the word "chanted" and the room was so noisy and chaotic, nobody knows whether there was chanting or not. Her point was 100% correct, however. The crowd gleefully embraced "English only!"

Susan Sarandon came across as a bully and a twit and Snopes lost a lot of credibility jumping to a quick conclusion based on Sarandon's account.

As a result, Bernie's campaign looks bad in this. Bernie should have apologized right away.

20. Huerta is one of my heroes, but she messed up

when she grossly misrepresented Bernie's record on immigration issues. The idea that Bernie should apologize is silly. The crowd may have been cheering because Huerta was not allowed to translate. A neutral person should translate, and so I would have cheered that decision too. The attempt to portray Bernie supporters as right wing nativist English-only assholes seems pretty lame to me.

Oh, and I agree that Sarandon was obnoxious.

Her attempted smear of Sanders fit the typical Clinton pattern get someone heroic tied to political power and then have them slowly walk it back.
