Finley: Clinton is exploiting Flint crisis

The mayor, the narrative continues, urged Hillary to go on national TV and demand action to purify Flint’s water and bring aid to the city’s residents.

And so she did, and, “They got the money,” Bill Clinton says. Wow.

Except it’s largely bullwhacky. A distortion of cause and effect. And an exploitation of the tragedy in Flint.

Hillary Clinton’s jawboning on the Rachel Maddow show didn’t awaken the nation to Flint. Cher’s bizarre call for Snyder’s execution got more play. Clinton was actually late to the party. By the time she discovered Flint, the enormous task of fixing the water and bringing help to residents had already been set in motion.

In fact, she ignored Flint in early January when she came to Detroit to pick up fundraising checks. It wasn’t until she saw the opportunity to make political hay that she jumped on

2. Nolan Finley is a right-wing hack.

He is an editor at the right-leaning Detroit News. He has been a Dem hater for many years. He is in favor of privatizing everything, shrinking government, and trickle down. He believes every right-wing talking point in existence and is usually late to the party himself when it comes to complaining about the fake news story du jour, often waiting until after the latest story has been debunked before making a stink. I cannot believe the guy still has a job.

11. No, not his first visit

He was there in the last couple of weeks and met with a group of residents to hear first hand what was going on. He has mentioned in his recent speeches how disturbed he was by some of what he heard. So he went back today to hear more and to shine a national spotlight on it. And it wasn't a big speech, he mostly moderated and let the residents of Flint speak.
