I have one word for those who are saying a Bernie nomination is impossible:

California.

That is all.

The electorate is too diverse for Bernie to win there. Sorry. nt LexVegas Feb 2016 #1

I don't think the same tactics that have worked for Hillary to garner black votes in deep-red Southern states (that she'll never win in November) are going to work in California. The Latino vote is completely up for grabs.

Hillary still holds a lead in California, but that lead has been shrinking dramatically for many weeks. California is entirely in play.

We will know shortly. As a native, California is Hard Core Bernieland. I bet my bones on it.

I live in Silicon Valley and go to Monterrey on the weekends sometimes and all that I have seen have been Bernie bumper stickers (with 1 or 2 exceptions). There were Bernie supporters along the road in Monterrey a couple of weeks who were getting honks, cheers and waves from people passing by. Also, when I drive through Mountain View in the morning I always see what I call the "Bernie-mobile" which is a white SUV with the Bernie logo all over it. I've even seen a couple of Bernie yard signs. I've seen maybe 2 Hillary2016 bumper stickers and a couple of Trump ones as well. Again, this is all purely anecdotal but, judging by what I have seen so far in my neck of the woods, I would say that there is a good bit of Bernie love here.

I'm in a red part of the state and I've seen one bumper sticker for Hillary here. One. Dozens for Bernie. We're going to deliver this state to Bernie. Count on it.

I like vigorous debate, but posts that are nothing but vulgar sniping contribute nothing to the discussion and are best hidden.

plus
Pledged delegates will be allocated to a candidate in proportion to the votes he or she receives in the state's primary

Lets assume he beats her by 20 points, not going to happen but lets assume

He gets 285 she gets 190

Then there are 72 Super delegates

I do not see California as a game changer

June is 3 months away. The momentum is with him here, DEFINITELY NOT with her. Her only supporters are blind party loyalists and The Democratic Party Machine but that's true in all states. It all has to do with turnout.

And even if he does it is not that much of a game changer

The Dems need to have winner take all states after the 1st few rounds (like after super Tuesday) and do away with super delegates

But, to date, there have been exactly ONE primary and two highly-suspect caucuses so, if you don't mind, it would be nice to wait until the other 47 states had a chance to vote before you throw in the towel. Are you sure you're a Bernie supporter?

that said, if CA plays a role, I will eat my shoe, We are late in the calendar and it has nada to do with the parties... I think we are leading in that sense, and parties should not be anywhere close to actually running the elections or determining calendars.

I could see him pulling out a squeaker here, but not a blowout. Recall that Hillary beat Obama here in 2008, and she's been endorsed by both of out senators.
