Related: About this forumHillary Clinton Visits Western Mass on Eve of Primary
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Hillary Clinton wowed a small crowd of supporters in Springfield on Monday morning before heading off to a larger rally in Boston just a day before the state's primary.
"I will work as hard as I can every single day. ... I will get up and to go to work for you and fight for you," the Democratic presidential candidate said, asking for their votes on Tuesday. "I want us to make progress again. I am a progressive who likes to make progress."
Sanders is expected to take his home state of Vermont, but Massachusetts could be a battlefield. Clinton is leading in Massachusetts by at least 5 points, according to recent polls, but Sanders' draw in Western Mass has been substantial.
Clinton has strong support from established Democrats. She was introduced by Mayor Dominic Sarno. and U.S Rep. Richie Neal shared the stage with her on Monday. Also attending were state Sen. Benjamin B. Downing, state Reps. Tricia Farley-Bouvier, William "Smitty" Pignatelli, and Eugene Dellea, president of Fairview Hospital and a longtime Kennedy family friend. Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer and state Rep. Gailanne Cariddi are also supporters.

Edward Markey: Only Hillary Clinton can beat Donald Trump
Republican Donald Trump is a formidable candidate who can only be bested in the general election by Hillary Clinton, U.S. Sen. Edward J. Markey said yesterday as he stumped for the Democratic front-runner.
I think the more real Donald Trump becomes as the potential nominee for the Republicans, the more real Democratic primary voters are becoming knowing we have to nominate a new president not send a message to Washington, we have to send a president. And if youre going to compete against a Donald Trump, youre going to need somebody like a Hillary Clinton to take him on, Markey said yesterday at the Boston headquarters of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, where he was joined by union executive secretary Mark Erlich and Middlesex Sheriff Peter Koutoujian.
Markey, a Malden Democrat, said hes not at all surprised reality TV star Trumps campaign has become a juggernaut.
He is a formidable candidate, Markey said. He understands the media. ... If were going to be able to beat him, were going to need somebody like Hillary Clinton. And Massachusetts, I think, is going to ... deliver her a victory on Tuesday night.
