(45,251 posts)under investigation. He is not now, nor has he ever been, under investigation for anything but activism on behalf of peace, poor people and equal rights.
No subpoenas, no taking two years to comply with subpoenas, no taking two years to comply with an FOIA request, no claims of insider trading, etc.

(45,251 posts)nothing remotely like an FBI or IRS investigation. It therefore concluded its only option was to have the PAC smear.

(45,251 posts)Rezkco, banks gave him a lower than standard (VIP rate) of interest, Michelle supposed got jobs because he was a state senator, etc.
Didn't amount to bird dropping compared to Clinton baggage, but they put it all out there.
Her campaign raised more money than his, but it's nothing compared to how awash in millions her PAC has been. Trust me, he's been vetted and, if they haven't put it out there yet, it doesn't exist.

(5,648 posts)There is no need; she can win without going there and she is doing it. No need to tick off Sanders supporters anymore than they already are.
However, the Republicans would not have been so kind.
But it doesn't matter anymore. The need for vetting Bernie has past.

(5,648 posts)While Bernie might continue on, even into the convention, it's over. Hillary has already pivoted away from addressing Bernie towards the general election. No need now to further aggravate Bernie's supporters.

(5,648 posts)There is absolutely reason to pick on Bernie any more, and every reason not to.

(1,446 posts)...Hillary wants to convert his supports eventually, and frankly, I don't think she considered him much of a challenger until very recently. There was a brief window where they seemed a bit worried, but knew that the Southern states would come through for her. Now it's not an issue anymore.

(45,251 posts)at least a year before he announced--as soon as he said he was "exploring" the possibility of a run.

(3,937 posts)I don't think Team Clinton expected Sanders to gather 50% of the Dem primary vote. They are in a fight for their candidate's last shot at the WH but they thought the Dem primaries would be a walk over.
And yes, they have all of the ammo they are going to get on Sanders and we have heard all of it already. Sanders is very likeable so there is a risk in going negative on him, especially for Hillary. So they go after his surrogates instead or try to kill Sanders chances with their propaganda and back-handed praise (eg. "nice guy with nice ideas but can't get it done" .

(30,481 posts)It's well known and common sense for those paying attention.
We truly can't post direct quotes of Sanders, not taken out of context, without being hidden.
New meme. Lol. Good one.

(5,204 posts)You're right, the Obama administration is vetting Hillary right now with 100 FBI investigators.
