Historically, they go with the choice of the party. In 2008 they all changed and voted for Obama.

No they are public..here is Wikipedia list of Super delegates and how they voted

(39,215 posts)1. Most super-delegates ARE Dem party leaders. If they are
elected officials the risk is that we the voters will take it out on them during the GE.
My area of MN has 5 super-delegates and all are elected except one. I can chose to ignore them if I want.
