Slumlord management should not be a style of government.

I 'd like to tell you that is what came to mind after watching the debate tonight. It made me think of the investment in our society between the New Deal and the Moon-shot, and then compare it to the current state of our infrastructure and the economic deterioration this nation has experienced since that era of anything was possible. I don't know what better way to describe that deterioration than as Slumlord Management.

A slumlord (or slum landlord) is a derogatory term for a landlord, generally an absentee landlord with more than one property, who attempts to maximize profit by minimizing spending on property maintenance, often in deteriorating neighborhoods.

And it isn't just allegorical; it is actually literally slumlord management.
