within our party!
Progressive African Americans support Sanders while older, centrist white voters support Hillary so it is NOT a racial divide but an ideological rift!
Sanders is winning states (both Democratic states and states that lean Republican in the general election) where the Democrats in that state are more progressive, more enthusiastic, and younger.
Hillary is winning in states where the Democrats are less progressive. End of story. Stop scapegoating African American Democrats as if they all think, vote, and act as a homogenous collective!

(7,318 posts)Those conservatives were the majority voters for her and not so much the centrist white voters. So, you're right--AAs don't think, vote and act like a collective. Bernie is expected to do much better with non-conservative AAs.

(3,457 posts)African Americans support former Secretary of State Clinton by more than a 3-to-1 margin nationwide, but among young blacks 18 to 29 years old, that margin shrinks to 46 percent for Clinton versus 33 percent for Sanders, according to recent Reuters/Ipsos polling.

(9,086 posts)People who get their news from television TEND to support Clinton.
People who get their news from the internet TEND to support Sanders.
Explains DU perfectly. Even though DUers mostly fall in the older age groups, they vote like the younger crowd of Reddit, because we are all getting news online.

But yeah no we're hardly homogenous.

(15,657 posts)voters there are less "progressive?"
And AAs who support Hillary are NOT "progressive?"
Even when they are major icons of the CRM, not simply participants in a march or two?
NO Hillary supporter that I have seen on DU is scapegoating AAs for anything. As a matter of fact, some of the strongest, most vocal, reasonable, proudest, longtime progressive AA DUers who have NOT "felt the Bern" have been put on time-outs due to alert-stalking by "Not Hillary" supporters, not by Hillary supporters.
You really might want to take a look in the mirror.

(9,527 posts)Sanders supporters are the ones here saying that black voters have Stockholm Syndrome or cite the education rating in South Carolina to explain why black voters support Clinton.
