2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSaw on CNN those voting for Hillary in MI said to a reporter they are voting because of BILL
That he was a President that gave them better economy (paraphrasing) and they know he will help out if she is President.
I think I stated something like this in another posted some hours ago and there you have it right on the news...must have been my telepathy...yea sure.
But they feel that he will guide her Presidency. I am not going for a third term of Bill.
And I believe that is why she had her server in her home so he could discuss with her issues of secrecy and be part of her decisions as SOS. I'm sick of the Royalty.
So is this in reality a campaign between Bill and Bernie!

(15,374 posts)any, IMO.
I've seen and heard worse justifications given as rationales for voting, many here on DU.
We'll take those votes and add them to the HRC totals just the same.

(146,338 posts)for Hillary because they liked Bill Clinton as President. A lot of people liked his two terms in office. Now, I think they should look at Hillary for who she is, but it's hardly a surprise that people who liked Bill Clinton would choose to vote for Hillary.
People vote for all sorts of reasons. Some of those reasons make sense, and some do not. The cool thing about this country is that we get to vote as we choose, for whatever reason. We should celebrate that, I think.

A girl said it was to get free tuition, like it was gonna start Spring semester 2017. Another great reason.

This is not how I, a lifelong feminist, want to see our first woman president get elected.

(3,373 posts)sexism in America, and while the Progressive Democrats are far past this issue, there are still independents (whose support we need) who are more comfortable voting for someone who was held out by a past president as his "co-president."
I'm disappointed to hear Democrats expressing this view but I am not surprise to hear some people express the view and -- frankly -- looking at Hillary's unfavorability and untrustworthy polling, she cannot afford to turn away any supporters.
