The protesters that shut down Trump's rally weren't encouraged by Bernie, that was Trump's doing.

Trump created the toxic atmosphere for this to take place and solely deserves the credit or blame, however you want to look at it, with his divisive, and hate filled language.

As I posted this Bible verse on General Discussions

Hosea 8 : 7

King James Bible

For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

http://biblehub.com/hosea/8-7.htm

Trump has created his own idol; which is himself and that fosters two types of people, the ones willing to worship at his altar "Delusions of Grandeur" and the people estranged from this belief or others; those that believe in the people first.

I have no doubt some of the protesters support Bernie; but his message has always been focused on inclusion and unity, "love trumps hate."

Without Trump's poisonous, racist, misogynist, xenophobic and violence inducing language there would've been no protests certainly not to the extent that took place in Chicago.

Most Bernie supporters were at Bernie's rally, not protesting Trump. On the local NBC news they showed what happened at the Trump rally and then talked about Bernie's rally. They made a point of saying that there was quite a difference between the two and I was very glad to see it.

Sanders called his rally "an interesting contrast" to Trump's event

The 2016 presidential campaign brought candidates Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders to the Chicago area Friday, but only Sanders was able to hold his scheduled rally.

His campaign billed the "Future to Believe in Summit Rally" as "an interesting contrast" to Trump's rally, though that remark was made before Trump's event was postponed Friday night amid large crowds of protesters. Cheers erupted when campaign made the announcement, and more protests followed.

(snip)

Sanders began the rally by saying that he'll win the election because people across the country want a government that represents everyone.

He added that his campaign is about bringing people together, "not letting Donald Trump or anyone else divide us up. No, we're not going to hate Mexicans, we're not going to hate Muslims, we're not going to insult women, we're not going to insult veterans, we're not going to insult African Americans."

(snip)

Trump booked the UIC Pavilion for his Friday evening event last week, prompting critics who do not agree with Trump's policies to promise protests. It's rare for a Republican presidential rally in the city limits. More often the GOP holds large events like this closer to the party faithful in the suburbs.

Trump? don't know what he was thinking coming to the west side at a big city university. I doubt many of his supporters walked to the rally or took a bus. Looked like police were getting them to the parking lots

he/she I don't remember which stated that Bernie spoke at Liberty University and was treated respectfully but there is a world of difference in Bernie and Trump's language.

Bernie has never condemned people that don't believe as he does and trash them by category; race, gender, religion, natural born or immigrant, etc. etc. nor has he promoted violence.

They were mostly students and they had raised 50,000 signatures for the school to not hold the rally. IMO the protest was probably talked up by several different factions and coalesced in one crowd with the same goal. It's what students do. And frankly, I am proud that they are doing it.

But then again subtlety is something not everyone is good at.

About the bible - I've often wondered how people can do some of the things they do if they are so devoutly religious. But then again, they say if you ask for forgiveness of your sins (for example, the sin of duplicity) you will be forgiven. But, if that is the case it would seem to make the whole concept of religion, in some respects, rather meaningless. And if that is not the case wouldn't people be in fear for their mortal souls? Though I guess it all comes back to "the mind has the infinite capacity to rationalize."

the hatred and divisiveness which he incites.

I expect the corporate media conglomerates to spin this in all manner of way over the coming days, most that I heard so far have called Trump to task, we will see how long they stay on that.

I'm not a particularly religious person but I view the Bible in the same light as ancient Greek Mythology, each has profound truths and wisdom regarding the human condition if you look for it.

I believe the same holds true for other religions or philosophies as well.

I know some people are totally turned off by the very idea of religion to the point that they totally dismiss or ignore the teachings, but recorded myth, religion and philosophy go back thousands of years and I see no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water in regards to the experience of humanity.

Everybody has to find their own truth.
