...in order to get anything done?

I'd like to think we could have gotten rid of that flag some other way.

It's good those demonstrators broke it up, because this Nazi 'crack their heads in the street' shit needs to be challenged at every level.

Translation: no praise for the protesters, blames them for not trying to bring us "together" with the racists and facists at Trump's klan-like rallies.

for some reason. I can't see why she didn't just say Trump - we know who she's talking about.

Bernie laid it at his feet.

because she's good friends with him.

vs. the people she DOES call out:

I'm thinking she misspoke, and meant to say use your money to bring people together.

That Bernie blamed Trump supporters is really not a lot different than what Trump does, though Bernie does it with more nuance and class. Hillary's statement is probably along the lines of what Obama will say.

That said, I'm not particularly against strong protests on either side. Both the right and left understand that real change will not come simply through the ballot box, it will come through activism. While violence should be condemned, protests and peaceful confrontation should be risked.

That resistance might necessitate conflict. She literally just suggested that talking it out and compromise was a valid strategy for confronting the violent, curb-stomping, racist, fascist right at the same time she suggested taking active resistance off the table because conflict is bad.

Not even Gandhi would approve of that crap.

I was informed here yesterday that "Dehumanizing political rivals is the first step toward fascism and genicide."

I think we're supposed to dance at their weddings and hug them, not criticize them - THAT'S how we prevent fascism. I admit it seems like a flying unicorn to me - but Hillary's big resume thing is that she was Secretary of State, so I guess she knows something about it. Befriend fascists to prevent fascism.

from one of the few prominent Democrats I can think of who are more hawkish than I am.

It's a puzzler. Personal conflict is bad, but bombing third world countries to rubble is good?

I think we're in Bizarro world.

"Get bent, Hillary! ...you useless appeasing quisling. No wonder even conservatives hate you...everybody loathes a sellout traitor preaching 'capitulation' and calling it 'compromise' arrived at through 'pragmatism', even those being capitulated to."

She's honestly like a mix of the worst traits of Neville Chamberlain and Vidkun Quisling in one person.

If we're really going to listen to that no-wit passing as a half-wit (Hillary), I propose we forego the hand-holding singing of "Kumbaya" and skip directly to laying down in the gutter to await getting stomped and kicked by Trump's brown-shirts. It'll save us a lot of time, the sooner to start planning our resistance to their fascism.
