2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie= force of Group; Hillary= force of Personality
I frequent a Pol Astro site and a comment made rationalizing support for Hillary when everything in the poster thrummed to Bernie's message struck me:
Bernie Sanders: Wonderful, well intentioned and sincere. Love everything he proposes. Wonderful ideas but diminishing strength, i.e. hes not powerful enough to control the Frenzied Mania from the R's that could destroy America!
Rationale: Yet, *right now* we need power/strength & audacity to calm-down the entire Right--meaning "hell-fire breathing Hillary.

At issue is, not only Trump's presence and power to seize and manipulate those that resonate to him, but years of the Republican obstructionism are coming to a head this election cycle. I cannot imagine anything that will tamp that down and business as usual politics just keeps the R discontent with not being the totally ruling party (with the most extreme of them wanting leadership positions) constantly simmering. This is not a case where you can meet fire with fire and impose control through a Personality, especially as even the thought of Hillary polarizes everything by touching all the R hot buttons.
Bernie represents the Group urge to betterment and it is through the efforts of the many that the struggle of determining what this nation is to be will be articulated. There is a line being drawn between the Opposites and choice is going to be made that needs to be the more inclusive one. The battle needs to be occur at that level now and it is how the solutions will be found--not top down.

It's almost impressive how willful someone(s) can be, and also be so totally blind to the rumblings of the world around them.

(3,226 posts)Bernie is all about the group that group is the 99% while Hillary is about a personality that of herself. Hillary's gut reaction is "what will be in her best interests" where Bernie's first thought is "what is in the best interest of others"
