I am so excited !!!!!!!!!!!! Just got a phone call from California.

A lovely, young, kind, gentleman was inquiring who I would be voting for.

He was working for the Bernie campaign.

I have lived at this address for 14, almost 15 years.

I have never gotten a call from the Democratic Party.

I have gotten calls from the Republican Party, but never the Democratic Party.

He was so sweet.

I was so excited.

He was excited that I was voting for Bernie.

It's amazing how candidates or campaigns don't always reach out as they should. And that you could be in the same place for so long and still fly under the radar.

I have had the same phone number for 14 or 15 years.

It seems the Republicans can always find you, but the Democratic

Party doesn't seem very interested in finding supporters.

Move to SC. We were getting 10-20 calls a day the week before the primary but fortunately they were all blocked.

The VAN information usually comes from voter registration information. If you changed your phone number after you registered to vote, odds are the Democratic Party doesn't have a record of your current phone number. Result: some people will get dozens of calls, others will get none.

I punched 2 and then it gave me only the repub runners to choose from! What the hell was that..........I hung up and with a recording you can't even fight back, grrrrrrrrrrr

But Southern California has been VERY active! Go to map.berniesanders.com, plug in your zip code and radius and take a gander at all the activities that are going on in your area.

If you want to phone bank on your own, go to www.bernisanders.com/phonebank and there are instructions on how to do your own phone banking. You can hold an Event, you can gather a couple of friends and order a pizza or you can just sit in your own home, in your jammies and go to it.

LOTS of opportunities out there.

the call woke me up (I've been sick) and I groggily said "I already voted". She seemed a little nervous and said "could I ask who you voted for?" and I answered "Bernie, of course!" and she seemed giddy at my response. I'm guessing that she just started phone banking. Keep up the good work everyone!!

53. We have been calling into other states from California
Sun Mar 13, 2016, 05:53 AM
Mar 2016

I was walking back to my car from Trader Joes and noticed a young woman putting a piece of paper under my windshield wiper of my car. My first thought was that she had done some damage, but as I drew close she noticed me and removed the paper and handed it to me. Before I could read the note, she exclaimed that she saw my "Bernie 2016" bumper sticker and she decided to leave me a note telling me how excited she was to see another car with a bumper sticker like hers saying "Bernie 2016."

We chatted for a few minutes and she told me that she spends three hours a day calling into other states for Bernie and had, so far, called into every state where there had been a primary. This was the first time she had ever volunteered for a campaign and she was thrilled that she could do so for Bernie.

A Bernie campaign worker has visited Santa Barbara and several of us from San Luis Obispo County had gone to the meeting a couple of months before the first primary in Iowa. The Bernie worker told us that there would have to be 2000000 calls from Californians into Nevada if Bernie had a chance to win that state. He explained that, unlike other campaigns that many of us had volunteered for in the past, there would be no paid Bernie organizers and we would have to organize phone banks, canvassing, and other Bernie events ourselves as the Bernie campaign lacked the backing of special interests, millionaires and billionaires to fund paid a large number of campaign employees. We pledged to do so and here on the somewhat conservative Central Coast of California I have been amazed at how people have stepped up.

In San Luis Obispo County, much of the credit goes to one of the best organizers I have even known, Heidi Harmon.

Often the presidential nominee has been decided long before Californians get to vote, so being asked to step up and work hard for Bernie to get wins for him in other states seems like we are actually important toward the process rather than an after thought.

The irony is that so many of the early primary states will not be wins for the Democrats in November but count and count large in the primaries, whereas California does count a lot and we are marginalized in the primaries.
