About Terrible "Screw Ups." .......and 2nd Apologies..

I think there was a Republican candidate in Missouri, running for senate and he made a comment about rape.
He screwed up.. It was a stupid screw up.
some time went by.....he put out half ass apology...
then......................... he put out another apology.. but, the asshole who said that when a woman is raped, she could prevent the
pregnancy..never said , "I am sorry, it was stupid and I wrong" The second
apology did not fly, wasn't worded correctly and so on.

When Hillary had to put out a 2nd apology, for the first apology...then it was probably too late, but the 2nd did not say...I am sorry..
...yes "I misspoke" is similar, ... but in my opinion that is not enough..

Here is the point, People were terribly hurt by Hillary's original statement, and the first apology did not recognize that hurt..If there was a quick and very clear apology with the correct words..then maybe it would have worked...maybe....

But that is not what happened. And the first apology did not work, it may have never worked, but that first apology was also a terrible mistake.....
Having to make another apology...and clarify things...as happened..is kind of hard to understand...Further, from what I have read, that 2nd is not enough to heal the hurt. I am just giving my opinion.
It is just an opinion, and I am saying so.

Until she shows true contrition, I think she still is the silent homophobe she always was.

F*CK HOMOPHOBIA.

As moving as the Viet Nam memorial...and both represent a failure of Democracy.

even as I am typing this, I have tears in my eyes; it was like a stunning blow, looking at that quilt, surrounded by the noise and busyness of hundreds and hundreds of people.

Both the quilt and the Viet Nam Memorial represent the utter uncaring baseness of our government. We keep electing those who would repeat war, and those whose first thought is - how much proft can be made from this?

If you 'misspoke', then you also need to say now exactly what you did mean, and let people know in which way you 'misspoke'. And if they still don't like what you're saying, at least they know that you're not 'misspeaking' the second time.

If all you say is 'I misspoke' without saying what you do mean, then you're simply mouthing words to try and weasel out of a personally damaging statement.

She didn't mention what the horrible error was. She said she misspoke, sorry she hurt people, etc.
I think it might have worked if she said that, in fact, the Reagans thwarted all efforts to do anything or say anything about AIDS, resulting in millions of DEATHS because of their actions.
Hillary needs to set the record straight or it won't work.
