At least polls have some basis in reality, since they are polling real people. Prediction markets right now are mostly conjecture...

The message of the OP has truthiness but to really discuss the topic you gotta deal with the assertion above which I have heard from several experts but haven't done the research on myself. Maybe someone who replies to be has some data or information.

against a statistical backdrop then it's not out of the question that Bernie wins for us and Trump wins for the Pukes.

There is analysis supporting more than one outcome. There is also analysis supporting that particular outcome, including polling.

I think it's ok for presidential aspirants to be excited by good tidings related to their campaigns. I think it's ok for Olympic athletes to be excited about their participation in that world competition. I think it's ok for Yo Yo Ma to be excited about a cello concerto he might perform with the Boston Philharmonic and ok for his audience to be excited about just hearing one of the best musicians in the world when the concerto is performed. I think it's ok for historians to be excited about their study of North Africa or ancient Peru. My late aunt could get fairly excited over peach cobbler.

Hillary, 12% upside down and constantly getting worse.

Bernie, 12.5% right side up and constantly getting better.
