The one thing I don't understand about Rahm's endorsement

Why didn't he just keep his mouth shut? What was there to gain from that endorsement?

It doesn't take a political genius to understand how toxic that endorsement would be. Rahm and Hillary's team have a lot of political experience. They should know better, to say the least.

How can a team have so much political experience but be so out of touch when it comes to execution? Baffles me.
