Looks like he is up to his old tricks (I sure were this was).

(13,871 posts)Campaigning. Something the Clintons do very well, which is why she is so far ahead.

(14,915 posts)Yeah, other than THAT, its all good.
During an election and the counting of the ballots, no person shall do any of the following: (1) loiter, congregate, or engage in any kind
of election campaigning within the area between the polling place and the small flags of the United States placed on the thoroughfares
and walkways leading to the polling place, and if the line of electors waiting to vote extends beyond those small flags, within ten feet of
any elector in that line
(5) solicit or in any manner attempt to influence any elector in casting the electors vote. (Ohio Rev. Code Ann. §
3501.35)

(13,871 posts)If it is illegal as you say, and he is doing it as you say, why has nothing been done about it?
Why has this not been mentioned anywhere except by Sanders supporters on this site?
Could it perhaps have something to do with the legal definition of "election campaigning"?
Joe the Revelator
(14,915 posts)The State Election Official called ahead to polling places where Bill was going to remind them of the law.
But seriously, its an ex-president of the United States, and proof that the laws don't apply to him. Because there is the law clear as day.

(154,021 posts)Honest question... assuming he drove here. This is the kind of misdemeanor we are talking about.
The hassle of charging a very well connected person is well, epic. So no DA would do that unless there is a clear political advantage.
(And as a few others have noted if this was Sanders doing it, you guys wold be screaming to high heaven)

(23,720 posts)And yes, one is required to be a certain distance from the entrances. Also, inside- one is not allowed to display any t-shirts or signs for a candidate either. Normally the precinct captains will notify someone if they are in violation and be instructed to move back and/or get rid of material.
I would suggest some Trump, Cruz and Rubio supporters attempt to do what Clinton is doing and see what the results are.

(13,871 posts)I have also worked outside of a precinct, and I have seen many others there also.
This is, as usual, an attempt to trash Hillary Clinton and not really a discussion of the issues.

(27,275 posts)I was just on Facebook telling my cousin about how Hillary was a big cheerleader for the Iraq war. She then posted a Blue or bust article. I don't think even an indictment will awaken some people. They will blame the rw conspiracy. So yes...it is perfectly fine for Bill Clinton to campaign at polling places.

(8,168 posts)They are politicians, FYI. Unless you know for certain it's illegal, you're just coming across as obsessive about the Clinton's whereabouts on election day.

(27,275 posts)It something that should be of concern.

Why doesn't a blatant disrespect for the process bother you?
Most politicians aren't ex-presidents with Secret Service contingents. It slows things up and if he's there on people's lunch hour (he is) then some people may not get to vote.

(8,168 posts)And it's a yawn.
I thought Hillary was looking out for us little people. Yet these kinds of dismissive attitudes are completely contradictory. Let's just assume that what they're doing is legal - it doesn't change the fact that it is completely inconveniencing hard working Americans who only have their lunch hour to vote and might have to risk getting their pay docked, written up, or worse, because the Clintons decided their campaigning is more important than those peoples' rights and needs.
10 - 20 voters inconvenienced. I thought it was cool meeting her at my polling station.

(3,040 posts)Clinton may not be violating the letter of the law, but he definitely is violating the spirit of the law by doing this. And, as people have said above, the reason he is able to skirt the law is because he was president.
The reason why there are so many people that dislike the Clintons is that they have no problem just going up to the line of violating the law then thumb their nose at those that call them out.

(594 posts)They know exactly how close to the edge they can get before crossing the line into illegality, and they are not afraid to do just that. It's unsettling that this doesn't strike Clinton supporters as at all worrisome.
Else You Are Mad
(3,040 posts)Especially since an example of this, Hillary's server/email, may be a post primary bombshell that could prevent her from winning in the general election. Yet, most Hillary supporters just shrug and say other officials did it so don't worry about it.
