Related: About this forumChicago suburbs seem to be mirroring Ohio: Dems crossing over
Have we figured out what this means?
Dems did the math so they might as well make their vote count?
They're happy with either Bernie or Hillary and are trying to tank Trump, or Cruz, which one is worse?

(14,915 posts)if they did the math, they should know that there vote counts very much in the dem primary.

(23,156 posts)I've seen some anecdotal reports that Dems in Ohio who are voting for Kasich are convinced Hillary has the nomination sewn up, so they don't need to bother to vote for her.
That reminds me of the various stories of the 1948 election, you know, the one that got us President Dewey? I've never quite figured out if the stories are apocryphal or not, but I've heard more than one of Republicans gathered at a party that election night, and they were so confident Dewey would win they hadn't even bothered to vote.
In fact, we want to encourage that attitude among the Hillary supporters. Yeah, go ahead and vote in the Republican primary. Don't worry, Hillary's going to get the nomination, she doesn't really need you right now.

(8,758 posts)... the previous record was 81k in 2008 Primary between Obama and Clinton.
Cook County, as you no doubt know, is very deep blue. Looks like record turnout all over Chicagoland. Its great to see so many people showing up at the polls for a primary.

(6,123 posts)....the two rural polls I was at today in McHenry County were much more crowded than usual. I drove past three more polls and the lots were full of cars.

(5,126 posts)if I had, it would be because I saw voting against Trump as more important than voting in the Dem primary.
I just got back from voting a bit ago. I had heard of enough d's crossing over that i feel confident Kasich wins. I didn't really want to give up my d registration so after some hesitation, I pulled the D ballot. Voted for Sanders. I think he gives us the best chance at winning in the general.
