2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumReport Finds Registered Lobbyists Among Democratic Superdelegates
The Democratic Party's unpledged superdelegates include dozens of registered lobbyists, the majority of whom are supporting Hillary Clinton.
A new report found that some Democratic superdelegates are also registered lobbyists.
In the Democratic Partys presidential primary process, superdelegates are party insiders who are allowed to vote for the candidate of their personal preference rather than on the basis of caucus or primary vote totals. While many superdelegate appointments are given to party activists and former and current elected officials, some have also been given to donors, including lobbyists.
According to ABC News analysis, of the 463 superdelegates who are not current or former elected officials, 67 are current or former registered lobbyists. There are 717 superdelegates in total who will vote among the July 25 nominating conventions 4,763 delegates.

(4,176 posts)Get back to me when the Democratic nominee is accepting endorsements from pastors who want to kill all gay people or from the KKK...
As in both Trump and Cruz.
How is it news to any of you that the democratic party is wall street friendly?

Will Quigg, a grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan's California chapter, told the Telegraph Monday that he would be switching his support from Donald Trump to Clinton."

I hope she "rejected" his endorsement, but it's unsettling that he chose to endorse her in the first place!

Why did you report about him in the first place?
(your comment to me is sickening and disgusting, for the record, putrid, fucking disgusting...putrid, vomit inducing)

(38,613 posts)I'm no longer eligible to serve on a jury, because I was harsh with the truth in a juror comment. I have no idea if that's a permanent ban or not, since I didn't see anything in the rules about it.
I wonder how many others are removed from the jury pool

(55,981 posts)they will have their way. And they have for 40 years. But it's time to stop. Don't support a candidate that is beholden to the Ruling Class.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS
"Yes Virginia, the DNC is populated by *actual* corporate whores who represent multinational corporations, not YOU!"
This is over the top and completely inappropriate especially during election season.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Tue Mar 15, 2016, 10:43 PM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: The post is 100% correct.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I think we have a differing definition of over the top, alerter.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Disagree with alerter: this is *not* over the top and completely appropriate *especially* during election season. Democratic party is hobbling itself with its arcane "superdelegate" nonsense. Alerter is welcome to rebut in thread.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: A little heavy on the invective, but the term isn't being used in a sexist way or directed at a specific person. Within literary bounds.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.
