2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumanyone notice Rachel's glee over Hillary in Ohio.......she was saying Bernie almost
guaranteed a win and early polls are indicating way to close to call, and that should make the Hillary team feeling pretty good.

(47,209 posts)It's funny because people read so much into it, but I think she just likes the process- the spectacle. She seems to love close races, and always emphasizes how inspiring they can be- because your vote mattered more!

(18,775 posts)Rachael clearly favors democrats but seems pretty even handed to me.

(47,209 posts)sanders, and positive for both as well. Honestly I have seen people here saying she is a sellout for talking about polling that did not favor Sanders. That's getting a little ridiculous.
She loves a tight race. I would not be surprised if she favored Sanders at all, but tries to keep her personal preferences out of it.

(711 posts)She gets really hyper at the very thought of an election.
I would like to think her enthusiasm means she's a Hillary supporter and Hillary's doing well tonight, but that would be wishful thinking.

(47,209 posts)She obviously loved her job, and her enthusiasm can be really infectious.

(47,209 posts)Rubio's big failure in Florida, and how he might drop out of the race. She was "appropriately" sober- if not somber, because she is not mean spirited. I think when she relates positive news for someone, she is more upbeat- and moat of all for Dems. But Iowa had her so giddy till the end- she loves a very tight race.

(32,864 posts)Even if it's close. Hillary was 30 points UP, a week ago. Bernie closed the gap after MI.

(5,648 posts)Why would you be satisfied if Bernie just came close in Ohio (regardless how much he has closed the gap) when he really has to win in all of the remaining states BIG to come close to catching Hillary. Close isn't going to cut it any more.
Even close wins are not going to cut it.

(4,176 posts)If Rachel showed a positive attitude reporting about Bernie, there would be no discussion here so this criticism is meaningless.

(4,176 posts)the same exuberance (in case some around here dont know, politics is like a drug to her, she would be excited no matter who won) for him.
Cant have that.
Then nobody here could whine about Rachel

(62,444 posts)Redundant repeating would be repeating that is redundant. Redundant repeating is more about the repeating than the redundancy. She doesn't redundantly repeat, but she is repeatedly redundant. Being repeatedly redundant is different from redundant repeating, because it is redundant but not repetitive.
Do you see this chimpanzee? In 1979 nobody believed an actor could be elected president. But this chimpanzee's co-star was a man named Ronald Reagan. And he wasn't just the first actor elected president, but he was also the first one with the same last and firs initials. His first name started with an R, for Ronald. And his last name ALSO started with an R, for Reagan. You see that? Both his names started with an R.
But that doesn't meant you could call him Reagan Ronald, because that would be backwards. The same thing happens with redundant repeating. Both start with an R, just like Ronald Reagan, but it's not the same thing as repeating redundancies.

(2,145 posts)That's partly why I can't watch her. I think a lot of good democrats who would have chosen Bernie crossed over to Kasich and I can't figure out why. I wonder what his ads in Ohio looked like and what they emphasized. Vote me or you get trump?
